Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

obamas laying into mittens tax plan "20% tax cuts across the board" "give more money to the military when it doesn't want of need it" "kill big bird".
Now he's using mittens Bain past against him.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryRon Paul Will Not Endorse Romney Because He Rightly Thinks America is a One Party System
He then slammed the two candidates, saying they're part of the same mold. "Why does Obama not attack Romney for being the Goldman Sachs candidate? It's because they both are within the establishment where they need the Federal Reserve and the lender of last resort to make sure that you can take all the risks in the world, but don't sweat it because government will be there and the fed will be there and they're going to get bailed out," he argued.
In the end, Paul sealed the deal with finality: "[Obama and Romney] represent a one party system. Somebody said, 'why don't we get a third party?' And another one said, and I think correctly so, 'why don't we get a second party?' … I've been in this business a long time, and believe me," he said, "there is essentially no difference one administration to another, no matter what the platform."
I would pay to see Romney and Obama get in a fist fight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgNettacki: Yeah that's just not true. I'm sorry. Obama is more to the right than most Democrats but they're nothing like the Republicans.
chihuahua 0: No it's not. That's what it was for years. Honestly if a guy makes 10 million he can afford to pay that rate since he'll still have 2.5 million which is more than most families make in twenty years. This is also before deductions to that rate.
