Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Untitled Power Rangers StorySo it's okay when Republicans exploit terrorist attacks for political gain, but not when Democrats do? Or don't, in this case?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Of course you have the right to spout your conspiracy theory about how there's a cover up going on. Other people, in turn, have the right to call you out. Freedom of speech works both ways.
I still don't understand how Giuliani and Republicans in general managed to somehow exploit 9/11 in the first place. When terrorists kill people in the country on your watch, how do you still get to brag about how you're the ones who can keep America safe? What the fuck is wrong with these people?
By the way, could British Newspapers affect the US Election?
Remember the most-read newspaper sites worldwide are the Daily Mail and The Guardian. Even the Daily Telegraph gets plenty of American readers.

It's very unlikely. It's fair to say that the only people undecided at this point are those who are undecided because they're unknowledgeable and disengaged, and those aren't the types likely to go through the effort of looking at British papers, let alone papers in general. This is very much a base-oriented election, so energizing your own voters is extremely important, and although the bases are more politically active and therefore more likely to look at papers, they are unlikely to be persuaded, especially not by anything printed by another country.

Rudi Giulliani says Romney SHOULD be exploiting Libya for political gain.
