Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Some people are concerned that Biden is not doing enough in NC, and that the race is tightening significantly as of late.
It probably would be a good idea for him to be a bit more proactive, in my opinion.
Okay that's what I'm talking about. Trump is a bad president but Biden shouldn't be campaigning on this idea that he can magically fix everything or make COVID go away. If there were a way this could easily end, I think we'd have seen some evidence of it by now.
Goals for a first term need to be relatively small and realistic.
Just Having FunI think the vaccine created by actual scientists and distributed by it will happen fairly soon. Its only Trump made it so much worse than it had to be. He's also attempted to weaponize it against his enemies.

No, we're well past that.
Covid-19 isn't a mysterious space disease. It's just a very virulent version of a pre-existing one.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I think it's mostly rampant pessimism that makes it hard to believe a vaccine for COVID will be a thing in the near future. Personally, I'm expecting a vaccine to cost exorbitant amounts of money, here in the US. After all, that's how most medicine is, here.

Too bad that some of the money that Trump lacks is probably going to help the vermin in the Senate get reelected.
