Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Trump won’t take a pardon from Pence until he’s either done committing crimes or Pence is about to not be able to give him a pardon anymore.
I the loses in November I could totally see Trump resigning the way before Biden’s inauguration and having Pence issues him a pardon. Though I’m not sure that Pence would do it under such circumstances.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranTrump is some kind of weird example of Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat.

Okay, Trump's youtube ads are really getting bizarre. I've gotten one now where the thumbnail is "The Bidening" and the text below is "Take the test Nov 3rd". I think they're trying to invoke The Thinning, but does anyone still care about that movie?
Ady Barkan sent a moving message to his son, recorded from when he could still talk. He talks about the failures of the healthcare industry and Republican attempts to hurt people like him. That Joe Biden will strengthen coverage ensure everybody can afford it.
John Kerry is up now. Reminding everyone of all the foreign accomplishments in the Obama-Biden administration, how Trump has screwed up everything in the opposite direction.
Video of military and State officials denouncing Trump and all his failures and coddling of dictators.
Colin Powell is speaking now. "Joe Biden will be a president we can all be proud to salute."
Video highlight Joe and John Mc Cain's friendship.
Jill Biden speaking now.
Can anyone imagine Trump trying to do a loving family video?
Jill Biden giving a speech from the school she teaches at. The sadness of empty classrooms, the fear of the virus, the frustration of trying to learn via Zoom.
The heartbreak of people dying alone.

Also, Pence in this scenario could only pardon Federal Crimes. Which won't stop the State of New York.
