Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Well, i cant wait to see the Biden Memes tomorrow
Laughing Joe anyone?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgwas working late tonight. can anyone summarize the debates?
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterHere's Huffington's hunch
and it's still a very ugly map for an Obama victory
As I saw it, Biden started strong, but lost control of the narrative near the end (though stayed strong in foreign policy). He did appeal to facts a bit more, but wasted a lot of opportunities for calling in facts to instead attack the Romney campaign, which just reinforces the centrist cult.
Ryan scored rather few points, but did somehow manage to slip out of the budget math scrutiny. >_>
And Biden's abortion answer lacked conviction. I have seen arguments from pro-choicers that I could respectfully disagree with (or sometimes accept); his was incoherent.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?

I think that Biden won. Ryan seemed a bit too rehearsed. But I will say that this debate was much closer than the other one. Who you think won really depends on your political preferences.
