Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Trump is the proverbial stopped clock that Bolton is a lunatic and needed to be fired.
Mind you, HE HIRED HIM, but Trump's reasons for firing Bolton are valid.
And in all other cases, Screw that Bastard.
It's not a stoped clock moment if the guy who was hired by Trump.
Like, Trump didn't discover that Bolton was a terrible person and that horrified him. He either 1) always knew Bolton's views or 2) was such a gigantic idiot that he never bothered to find out, either way neither are commendable.
Trump shouldn't get any points for firing the maniac that he hired in the first place.
(I know you mentioned that he hired him but the point stands, that's reason enough not to qualify it as a stopped clock moment)

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
Honestly, Trump is a huge scumbag and all, but he has never been somebody who was keen on warmongering.
On the contrary, he has been consistently isolationist.
So yeah, I actually believe that he was simply a dumbass on that one. Hell, maybe he didn't even know anything about Bolton before hiring the guy. He probably just looked at the guy's resumé and thought "Oh, he has job experience!".

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% Scandinavian@NRA: Man this case is just horrible, even as someone moderately pro-gun the NRA can just go fuck themselfs and burn in a fire, they are nothing but stooges who exist solely to harm the public discourse.
At the same time, I worry imensly about the precedence upholding San Francisco's end sets, who gets to be declared a terrorist next when they arent doing the acts themselfs, just enabling them... Will the communist party be labeled terrorists like they were back home? Black Lifes Mater terrorists because of that one guy who killed a cop....
Like the NRA needs to burn, but upholding it as is sets a very worrisome precedence. :/
@Bolton: I am pretty sure he was rubber stamped yes, acording to some former aides Trump never liked him because "His mustache made him look like a walrus"

I mean, this demonstrates that Trump is terrible boss who refuses to show basic human decently to his employees. The fact that Bolton is also terrible person doesn't directly affect that- even terrible people deserve to be the first to know that they've been fired.
But, I mean, really looking at this from a moral perspective a misleading one, I think- the problem was that Bolton's primary goal was to accomplish something that Trump didn't want to happen, and therefore he was a bad fit for the position in Trump's eyes. Really, given the fact that he doesn't seem to want war, he probably should've known better than to hire Bolton in the first place.

> Frankly, given the NRA's association with arms trafficking and Russia—is it really wrong?
has a single act of terrorism ever been directly linked to the NRA?Has the NRA ever said they were behind an attack?
The answer is 'No,of course not or they'd have been shut down years ago"
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverHold on, time out. What's this about Jesse Ventura being a Russian propagandist? Are we talking the retired pro wrestler who went by the nickname "The Body", or someone else who just happens to share the same name?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. This might be too small in scale, but it might still be useful for discussion purposes or as a juxtaposition to the national level. A Tennessee lawmaker has stated that he thinks that higher education should be ended as to "cut liberal breeding grounds off at the source" and because they in his opinion, "promote abortion." Keyblade Master was here> Actually, I'd argue that they have been linked to numerous terrorist attacks but they deny responsibility.
And we know terrorists like to claim they were behind attacks as part of their goal of being terrorists so yeah they're not a terrorist organisation
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverSadly its mostly been drowned out by Bolton being fired when you try to google him now.
vice has an article on it still, but I dont know how trustworthy they are
Personaly I heard the walrus mustache thing on cable news, but cant rember which one since it was like a year ago.
