Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.

I'd certainly want my own weather/climate control device. So that I can get rid of the hot summers and cold winters, make them much milder, and attempt to get rid of all of the bugs in the process.
ASAB: All Sponsors Are Bad.Trump's net approval rating sinks in every battleground state – He's lost ground in the states that will decide the 2020 election.
Trump is flailing right now. He genuinely doesn't know what he's doing in the Oval Office, and all of his attempts to pander to his base for their adulation keep backfiring in the polls. He's going to keep getting worse.

Are you talking about TS Dorian? Dorian is predicted to not even be hurricane strength by the time it shows up at Puerto Rico and will likely be a rain shower in comparison to Maria.

Preparations for the coming tropical storm/hurricane, I'd expect.
Though considering they're still recovering from the last one, I'm not sure what exactly they could be expected to do. Make sure there's less debris to get tossed about by the winds? Erect some stronger shelters for those who are still homeless to seek refuge in?

Racisim, plain and simple.... racist Democrats exist as well, just not in as high if numbers as republicians...
Also while they wouldn't be in super high numbers I can see some conservative leaning women voting Hillary out of solidarity, though that block is probaly much smaller.

That, and they're only Democrats because of family history and vote straight Republican.
Essentially the last dredges of the Dixiecrats.

They tend to be old so you might be right but it's quite north up here.
Honestly even though you can get trends, humans rarely fall neatly into boxes as far as politics go.

I'd change it so it's always cold, because fuck hot weather. I'm thinking of moving somewhere more northern when I get older, because Mediterranean heat sucks and is going to get worse with climate change.

It's more the other way around. They're socially progressive (though not enough for "progressives") but aren't too keen on more socialist economic policies. They're the people who prefer sticking with and improving the ACA as opposed to going all-in on Medicare-For-All.
The "Economically progressive but still bigoted" thing is more a stereotype of the hardcore "Bernie Bro".

Disgusted, but not surprised

Hey, instead of dropping a nuclear bomb at a hurricane, why don't we create a weather controlling machine instead? Think about it: It would be a job creator, the savings in damage would easily justify the cost of building it, and other countries would be chomping at the bit to buy the technology to avert their own natural disasters. It's win-win-win!
I'm being facetious- this would be a horrible idea too. For no other reason than Trump would almost certainly abuse the power and do something like, I dunno, give a hurricane to California for not voting for him.
