Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

He also lied about opposing the Iraq war when it first happened.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"While Baltimore does have an issue with crime, corruption, and yes, rats (by the by it seems that whenever someone brings up the fact that Kushner owns several of those rat-infested properties, the right-wingers deflect so hard that they could have saved Alderaan), the way Trump worded his criticism to also be a racist attack made this a case of a stopped clock if the clock stopped on a puppy's tail.
The debate is starting.
So 10 minutes in, we get a movie trailer, the national anthem, and a damn commercial break.
Okay, we get it, y'all wanna beat Trump. Then what?

i'm tired, my friendI don't think it's true that Democrats just instinctively take the opposite stance of Trump in everything. A while back, Trump took a firm stance in favour of mandatory vaccinations. The Democratic party didn't just suddenly turn into an anti-vaccer party as a result. I'll try to give him credit where it's due, it's just that it usually isn't due.
He's like the Anthropomorphic Personification of "well, actually...".

i'm tired, my friendSeems like Warren and Sanders are performing the best, which is exactly what I hoped would happen. I'll then check the recaps tomorrow, because I'm too tired for the rest right now.
Life is unfair...

Basically, if Trump acts like an asshole, that's honesty. If he's got a point, he might just be feigning common sense for good publicity.
If common folk agree with whatever Trump says, they'll have to fact-check the hell out of it, then begrudgingly accept it. It's easy to oppose Trump because he's that much of an asshole.
Trump's the ultimate Heel and he doesn't even know it, or refuses to accept it.
