Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

The question is, are the Kochs going to learn from this fiasco?
It's an honest question, since they're not stupid (they're evil), and the end result of their schemes has gotten out of control and blown up in their faces because they linked their deregulatory efforts to a movement built on nativism, collusion with a state that's out to destabilize America, and a President who is a moron.
Maybe they'll join the flow of business leaders toward the Democratic side and go back to working to keep their libertarian voice heard in the halls of sanity, even if that means it'll be overruled more often.
When (and I hope it's "when" and not "if") Trumpism is no longer relevant, the Kochs, or whoever succeeds them (they aren't exactly spring chickens and I highly doubt Thiel's vampire thing actually works) will take over the GOP again.

Disgusted, but not surprised
Science is out on it still, one study says it helps mice (Stanford), another says it kills them faster (Berkeley).
And then you have these idiots who jump right from results on mice to results on humans skipping every thing in between. ._.;
I also wonder if Trump attacking the Kochs will actualy do any thing, since he still has Faux News kissing his ass.

Meanwhile Trump has gotten it into his head that Voter ID is fine because you need a photo ID to buy basic groceries
or something like that.
Dude really is in his own little world.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Trump just Tweeted that Sessions should stop the Mueller probe, a first. For anyone who has been paying attention, we know that Sessions can't, even if he was ordered to or wanted to. That's up to Rosenstein.

Another rally, another swipe at Acosta and the free press in general.
Predictably, Hannity defended the booing, claiming the reason he's getting mistreated is because CNN doesn't treat Trump fairly.
Once again, I fear for this country the way we're headed.
As a Brazilian, all I can say after the 2016's mess is been there, done that, getting the President impeached is going to be much easier than getting the President and the Vice-President, even if Pence knew and benefited from the Russian meddling, proving it is going to be much harder.
a Child dies in ICE detention center due to Negligent care.
.......Oooh, If I wasn't mad at this administration already...
Watch Symphogear

He probably wouldn't listen anyway.
