Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

The wiretapping accusation is even more ridiculous since the POTUS doesn't actually have the authority to order wiretaps. So either Trump thinks Obama did it secretly (again without presenting a shred of evidence) or he honestly doesn't know that the POTUS can't order wiretaps.
Disgusted, but not surprised![]()

Do it anyway to piss off Trump!
@Zendervai
If there's a Trump tweet you don't want to link, check the PresVillain Twitter
. They've been taking recent Trump tweets and statements and giving them to the Red Skull. That way you don't give Trump hits and instead give them to something that objectively deserves them more.
Case in point, the wiretapping tweet:

Also, from Robert Costa's twitter:
Several Trump advisers woke up this morning surprised by the president's tweets. They weren't told of his plans, a 2nd official says.

Apparently the evidence doesn't matter. The Trumpists believe him.
And, I'm actually more surprised by the implication that Trump has plans for things.
I wonder how long it'll be before Mexico and Canada make it stock joke to their peace corp equivalents: "when you visit America don't drink the water."

"You can reply to this Message!"All I could think of when reading that Trump had called Obama a "sick guy" was how King Ross might now joke about gimmick infringementnote .
Fixed the red-link and added context due to unexpected page-topper.

Someone, speed at which this thread goes I couldn't possibly tell you who or point to the original post, linked this to me as a good way to quickly pick up on recent headlines.

Of course it's pulled out of someone's ass.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotIt's from the Steele dossier. The only part that's conspiracy theory is that Russia is whacking off some important people connected to Trump from their side which was meant as an aside which isn't that much of a leap to make.

Except that the latter is what Cenk is "reporting" about.
There's only one death where the deceased matched the profile of a source for the Steele dossier, so unless the Russian government has suddenly decided that they can't afford pensions for high-ranking diplomats anymore, the rest is one leap of imagination too far.

Uh, no he's not. I don't think you even watched the video.
He says a ten second line about it but the main thrust of the video is that Trump's bottom line is the money and that people are over-thinking it. The assertion is that he's stupid enough to think he won't get caught even though it's obvious to rational people that he had a lot of contact with the Russians.
