Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

She added “I hate my name. This is so unfair. And I HATE Hillary. She hired someone to do this to my family. I'm so upset. All this fucking press. It's so unfair.”

If Dems want to win more elections, they ought to replay footage and share pics of GOP reps and senators bravely, bravely hiding and running away from town halls.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWho's actually buying this crap coming out of Trump's mouth right now?
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.![]()
At this rate, finding a GOP senator and/or rep in a public forum will be harder than finding Waldo.

Which pile of crap? There's so much to choose from these days.
If you're talking about the "Jewish false flag" bullshit, I assume the anti-semitic Trump supporters are buying it. YMMV of course on how much the groups "Anti-semites" and "Trump supporters" overlap.

Disgusted, but not surprised@Conneticut Special Elections: From what I can gather, all three seats were considered safe for the party that won. So what here isn't the results, but the margins. I can't find really good information on what those margins are, but apparently the GOP margin shrunk by 22 points in the district they won. Which is pretty enormous, and would've been more than enough to swing any race that was even vaguely competitive.
I am.
Quoting myself:
"Our allies will find that America is once again ready to lead"
That's why there's no ambassadors, right? "Dying industries"
Coal's never coming back
"Veterans"
Who you've screwed over.

The texts, posted on a darknet website run by a hacktivist collective, appear to show Manafort’s family fretting about the ethics, safety and consequences of his work for Yanukovych. And they reveal that Manafort’s two daughters regarded their father’s emergence as a key player on Trump’s presidential campaign with a mixture of pride and embarrassment.
In one March 2015 exchange that appears to be between the two sisters, Andrea Manafort seems to suggest that their father bore some responsibility for the deaths of protesters at the hands of police loyal to Yanukovych during a monthslong uprising that started in late 2013.
“Don't fool yourself,” Andrea Manafort wrote. “That money we have is blood money.”
In another hacked exchange a few months later with someone else, Andrea Manafort wrote that her father’s “work and payment in Ukraine is legally questionable.”
Hmmmm.
