Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Fair enough, let me rephrase that: they're not bothering to pretend anymore.
They've become like Bill O'Reilly, complaining about libs wanting take power away from the white establishment. The dogwhistles have been essentially dropped.

"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Hey, at least Nixon actually had policies, including some that would today be considered "liberal."
And it's not like he ran on repealing the landmark accomplishment of his predecessor. There was a third-party candidate for that.
Of course, Nixon decided by 1972 that if the racist vote was going to go somewhere, it might as well be him, and that's part of how the Republicans wound up where they are now.

The Uber driver we got in New York is an Albanian immigrant who talks with an Italian American accent mentions to my dad that he wants the Republicans to do like what Duterte is doing to make all the drug addicts and lords give themselves up like flies.
I can't help but think of the drug cartels in Mexico.
I'm partial to the slogan, "Still With Her".
Also, "Hindsight is 2020" is gold. Dems, make it happen.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. Also he says it's a preview for the video of Trump participating in a Russian orgy that'll also be released.
Oh, for the love of all that's good and decent, I wish I had never heard/read that! Must... get... Brain Bleach!
This Space Intentionally Left Blank. It's probably not going to leave a mark on Trump's base.
Unhinged racism? He's been doing it all campaign, and people claim he's telling it as it is.
Orgy tape? See Soekarno
. Asides from that there will be the inevitable flood of idiots calling him an "alpha" for it.
To be honest my desire to Glomp someone for some reason kind of means I don't need Brain Bleach here...
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotThe electoral victory margin was ridiculously slim in this election (thanks to the GOP cooking the books). A video of Trump being irrefutably racist might have tipped the scales. Although he survived a video of him bragging about his status as a sexual predator, so...eh.
The infamous pussy-grabbing video did still probably hurt him some, at least. And another one might have done him in. We'll never know. It certainly wouldn't have helped him, we can be pretty sure of that - all of the people who liked him because he was racist were going to vote for him anyway.

"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Here's What Happens When A President And The CIA Fight
Trump campaign manager Kellyane Conway
named White House Counselor to the President.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's too late at this point, isn't it? Even if Tom Arnold releases these allegedly damaging tapes, and even if his voters are disgusted enough that they want him removed as president (in itself a big "if"), the EC already gave their seal of approval. The earliest we could be rid of him would be well into his term via an impeachment, and even there, what are the odds of Congress, which is Republican-dominated, going against their fearless leader?
Basically, if what's on these tapes is as bad as Tom says, he should've released them earlier.
EDIT:
Oh great, now we have to see HER for four years too. Am I the only one who really can't stand her personality?

I've said it before, and I can see I'm going to be saying it many times again.
They have become the party of evil.
