Funny hing is, the version of luthor who looks more like Trump is....the Bv S one, someone who goes out is way to harm a ilegal immigrant for the most Petty reasons.
" too many more electors will find their consciences at this point, even with new stories daily on Trump's corruption and utter incompetence"
Once Trump run out of popularity(and it will) they will harder themselves against all critic or just try to find a way to come as the moral one: maybe he was liberal all the time, maybe he is just another crook politician and so on.
So far, my only hope is that serve as bitter lession about trusting fools

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"@Electoral revolt-it is unlikely to go anywhere, for the simply reason that the Republicans won such a large majority in the House. If Democrat and some Republican electors go faithless, the rest of the Electors would as well and make it a straight partisan divide in the Republicans favor. It would take around 30 Republicans going rogue alongside all the rest, before accounting for DINO defectors pushing their electors to toe the line, like Trump fangirl Tulsi Gabbard.
Richard Nixon was a nasty partisan anti-communist of the first order. He supported union-busting moves like Taft-Hartley, and was deeply involved in the bitter and nasty Alger Hiss incident which is still pretty controversial these days. In the 50s when he campaigned against a senate democrat Helen Gahagan Douglas, he said she was a pinko, and said she was "pink down to her underwear". Helen Douglas in response called him..."Tricky Dick", a nickname he hated.
Nixon was considered to be dislikable on a personal level. He was essentially the Ted Cruz or would be Ted Cruz if he didn't have his redeeming talents and moments. Eisenhower when asked what did Nixon contribute to his administration said "I can't think of a thing".Then there was the nasty campaign of 1968, where Nixon apparently sabotaged peace talks with Vietnam, for his own platform and he was said to have won because the Democrat Party was divided, which they were.
So when Nixon came to office at the end of the 60s, it seemed to everyone that the counter-revolution had won and so on. But Nixon did surprise a few people. And he was quite popular. I mean when the Watergate scandal broke out, it wasn't an issue and Nixon got re-elected anyway. It became an issue in the first years of his second term and that's when it ended with him being forced to resign.
One fun fact about Nixon...he actually gave tax cuts to Hollywood. This was the era of the New Hollywood and Nixon was The Movie Buff, and the new hollywood used those tax cuts to make artistic bold political movies, many of them mocking and attacking Nixon himself, the guy who helped them out.

Did anyone see this video yet? Because holy wow, Trump has been racist (lol, yeah) towards Native Americans for decades
New Survey coming this weekend!Tulsi Gabbard met with Trump a couple of weeks ago, defended some of his policies while criticizing the same from Obama and her own party, and last I heard was still angling for a position in Trump's administration, possibly a cabinet position.

"Thank god, that's not the criteria for this country...your look test". Tempting Fate Mr. Senator, Tempting Fate.
But God...that's the alt-right philosophy there, pretending that white people suffer discrimination and saying that he, a billionaire shouldn't pay taxes because minority groups get exemption on their land.

Tulsi Gabbard should be ashamed of herself. Anyone who knowingly collaborates with Trump should. There's no such thing as cosmic justice, and the history of humanity is illustrated by hundreds of thousands of oppressors dying in their sleep surrounded by their money and sycophants, but I hope they get what's coming to them somehow.
It's been fun.The same Tulsi Gabbard deployed with many other veterans to Standing Rock to protest DAPL (which Trump supports because the company behind it was a campaign donor, and he invested in that project), so let's not call her DINO...yet.
If Trump invites Bernie Sanders to meet him at Trump Tower for a cabinet position, do you think Bernie would say no. You have to pay courtesy calls and visits because that's how any President-Elect would operate. Trump is a fascist but he won the election as fair and as square as Bush I did in 2000.
Speaking of Democrats being invited to Trump Tower:
(Vox) "Donald Trump met with Al Gore to discuss “climate issues.” We have many, many questions."
One hopes Trump and Ivanka were persuaded they could become disgustingly, comically, exceedingly rich off of going green.
As Herman Melville said, "Something further may follow of this masquerade.''
To be honest, if Trump gets on board with climate change and gets Myron Ebell off EPA...if he just does that, I think I can live with the SCOTUS Appointments, the Racism, the Kleptocracy.
Given that he's stocking his cabinet with oil executives, bankers, proposing a known climate change denier to head the EPA, run on promises to give more support to fossil fuels, pledged to kill off all funding for earth science research, and that he's got personal stock in several oil companies, I doubt there is much chance that he won't screw us over hard there. Harder than pretty much every other issue he manages to wrap his tiny fingers around since the danger is to the whole planet.
Never, ever hope when it comes to that spray tanned bastard and his flunkies.

Gore would have to have been able to convince Trump to do a 180 on the issue. So we are relying on the persuasive ability and charisma of Al Gore. Yeah...no.
If Trump was serious about changing his mind about climate change, he'd be picking someone else to be head of the EPA.

Disgusted, but not surprised
Part of me holds out hope that even if Trump does appoint a climate denier to head the EPA. Once said person looks at the EPA's internal climate data and realizes that it's basically the same as their external data, they'll promptly do a 180 on the subject.
Unfortunately my fear is that the person Trump appoints to head the EPA already knows that anthropocentric climate change is 100% real....they just don't care.
That's the thing: I think most if not all of the higher-up "deniers" do know. And they don't care. Maybe they think it's too late to stop it and are just looting the store while they can, so to speak. Maybe they figure "hey, I probably won't live to see the worst of it". Maybe they're rich enough that most of the immediate effects of climate change won't really hurt them. Maybe they're kidding themselves despite the data and think "eh, climate change won't be that bad" (that's bullshit, btw — it's bad).
Remember that Trump had a seawall built to deal with rising sea levels to protect one of his golf courses, and cited "global warming" as his reason for it when applying for a permit. He's only willing to acknowledge climate change when climate change hurts his wealth.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt's really strange to me that climate change denialism is such a big thing in the US. Like, I get the reasons behind it (GREED), but for my own education I was always taught that anthropogenic climate change was 100% a thing and every scientific source I consulted afterwards only reaffirmed that as fact.
Someone on Trump's staff was talking about "politicized science" in the sense of defunding research into climate change or something, and I can't help but let out a dark chuckle at the irony since climate change denialism is entirely motivated by politics and greed.

This level of denial goes well beyond greed.
They're true believers.
I think this is a case of Becoming the Mask turned Up To Eleven

New Survey coming this weekend!
Depends. I think greed is still the primary motivator (though not the only one) for the super rich fossil fuel executives and (maybe) the politicians who suck up to them for donations.
The hardcore "true believer" conspiracy nut denialists make up the rest.

Disgusted, but not surprised

Regarding Nixon, I'm a bit curious: I understand that a lot of people really dreaded the thought of him becoming president at the time, even before Watergate, to the point of telling people they'd go to Hell for voting for him. Why was he that unpopular before he became president, after he'd been vice president to the well-liked Eisenhower for eight years?
