Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

It would have been hypocrisy not to concede. At the very least, HRC will go down as a Graceful Loser.
I might still make my trip back to America for the holidays. I live in California, which is apparently one of the few bastions of sanity left in the country.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, if that's that, then that's that. I hope that all those considered minorities in the United States will be safe for the four years to come. Here's hoping that, even with Trump as President, that someone does something about the hate groups that have crawled out of the woodworks because of him.
Stay safe, everyone.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."I just hope Hillary doesn't run again in 2020.
She's proven that she's a horrible candidate. Even with Trump doing all the wrong things, she still lost.
She lost to Obama, she nearly lost to a Democratic Socialist even with things worked in her favor and she lost to Donald Trump and not by a small margin.
@Mad Skillz: She lost to Trump because angry white men banded together and decided man who "tells it like it is" and "say what we're all thinking" would be a better president than a woman with actual political experience.

i'm tired, my friendGore retracted his the last time, so Hillary could too if something happens to swing the election back. More than likely won't, but being a Graceful Loser doesn't automatically remove any chance of contesting the results.

If we didn't have the electoral college back in 1999, we would have had Gore. Then maybe 9-11 would not have happened.
Are we living in a Bad Future or something?
