Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Like I said, if I meet anyone new from now on, there's going to be a lingering suspicion of where their political loyalties really lie. What this election proved was that there is a Black Shirt on every street corner. They're in our schools, our workplaces, and our social circles, and they hate people of color like me, even when they say they don't. This country is going to be subjected to a great white terror, when the uneducated barbarians that put Trump in the oval office will have full license to brutalize any minority they want.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."2000 isn't a lot.
To be honest, if Pennsylvania does go red it will be the biggest surprise of all the states in this election for me.
There's still hope that Pennsylvania will get the results from some urban place and go back to Clinton, and then we'll need something similar in the two Midwest states currently leaning Trump.
It's possible.
I'm also still wondering about those reports that people are still queuing. If it's true and they're in big polling places it's not over yet.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.

If this goes down to 270/268 the faithless could move things but then there would be grounds for a legit civil war.
We could start a state swap program. We'll trade you alberta and sask for cali, deal?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?
