Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!And this goes for everyone, any of you who move to Canada in the event of a Trump victory will have my emotional support, and if you stop by where I live I'll bake cookies.
(note, I'm kind of a shit baker and can't guarantee they'll be edible)
@megarockman: Just the idea that so many are willing to screw over minorities in this nation, on purpose, (not even through a "hidden" dog whistle policy) makes me angry/nervous. I don't know how you can be so calm. Also I live in a rural area, and get worried about the people around me. Sure, it is in a Blue State but still.
Guys, may I post this thread
if this is really stressing you out really bad?
It's understandable to have a lot of fear and emotional investment regarding the outcome of this race.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Canada is still sane, but unless you can claim refugee status its actually really hard to immigrate to.
I think we need new rules if Trump wins, Stein and Johnson voters don't get in. Republicans who voted Clinton do get in but have to sing God Save the Queen, with feeling.

Of course if said groups actually bothered to show up....
