Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Well this is worrying as hell. Thanks a lot Comey. And thanks to the "liberal media" for obsessing over goddamn emails as much as you did. Honestly I can't help but think that in doing that the press not only made Clinton look worse but made Trump's scandals seem better. It's not hard for idiot voters to take the message that Trump's scandals don't matter since they change so much, while the obsession over Clinton's "one" is evidence that it really matters.

Aaaaaaaand I here the fuccbois in my hall going "OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Dear Trump, Go Fuck Yourself.
However...remember how, back in 2012, when the election was almost over and everyone was saying, "The race is till uncertain"? And then the West Coast's votes came in? *sigh* I just don't understand how so many people in this country can even entertain the idea of Trump being a remotely decent leader...
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Representatives Race is 131-190 for Republicans.
@On Brexit: It's probably not the right comparison. Brexit was performed by keeping everybody in the dark. Here, we had more than enough of Trump. These people aren't just oblivious, they know what they're doing and who they're voting for.

Reading tropes such as You Know What You Did
Los Angeles: A polling station in Azusa, California has been locked down after shots were fired nearby.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that at least one person has died and three others have been wounded by a "heavily armed" gunman. It is unclear whether any police officers were injured.
One shooting is one too many. Thank goodness though given that not even Bush could have dreamed of elections being this hostile it's just the one shooting and not a hundred.
