Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Michigan seems to be setting a turnout record, though. Not sure whether that helps Hillary this election; given the sort of people Trump is bringing out, I suspect this year the turnout effect won't help the Democrats much.

Yeah, that's basically a 2016 reissue of the same article:
Election was decided ages ago bar "Grab 'em by the pussy" votes pushing it further in Clinton's favor if at all. All October surprises basically do is jolt turn out in all likelihood.

Hard to say. Cruz, maybe - he's broadly unpopular, and while he's not as overtly detestable as Trump, he does strike me as having definite likeability problems.
Anyway, CNN is show Trump ahead in New Hampshire at the moment, but this is very early on.
Oh God! Natural light!Well here is trump personally doing some voter intimidation on his wife...

I actually think if Ivanka Trump had ran herself rather than pulling Donald's strings, she would have been a dangerous contender.

Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Thing is no other Republican could have pushed up the white uneducated vote, and that's the only way Trump is going to win, so I think all other Republicans would have done worse.

Trump is leading in the various districts of Kentucky that have posted results thus far which is less than half, and in one of the two districts that have posted results for Kentucky - albeit the larger one. While he's probably guaranteed KY, that's a far cry from a result in NH.

Well, I doubt she'd be able to say "Yeah, we're boned" even if she personally felt that way because of her position.
