Nov 2023 Mod notice:
There may be other, more specific, threads about some aspects of US politics, but this one tends to act as a hub for all sorts of related news and information, so it's usually one of the busiest OTC threads.
If you're new to OTC, it's worth reading the Introduction to On-Topic Conversations
and the On-Topic Conversations debate guidelines
before posting here.
Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.
If time spent moderating this thread remains a distraction from moderation of the wiki itself, the thread will need to be locked. We want to avoid that, so please follow the forum rules
when posting here.
In line with the general forum rules, 'gravedancing' is prohibited here. If you're celebrating someone's death or hoping that they die, your post will get thumped. This rule applies regardless of what the person you're discussing has said or done.

Still haven't found anything in the mainstream press (though I am intentionally avoiding the national sites and have so far only caroused the local TV stations). Part of me is hoping this is overzealous polling station workers keeping out what they thought were unauthorized "poll watchers" (as noted, in Philadelphia party registration is 7:1 in favor of Democrats and finding Republican poll station workers is normally difficult).
On a lighter note, a nice little quip from Dolly Parton
.
...That's not illegal, man.
Yes, that's my thought as well.

Oh God! Natural light!Apparently turnout in Ohio is pretty high, not sure if that's a good thing or not. Some disappointing numbers regarding African American turnout in NC, and the local Republicans claim that white turnout is up ~25% or more, so that's really not good if its true.
I think Florida/Nevada and the firewall are our best bet tonight.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Any reports from Michigan and Wisconsin? I'm a little concerned about them (though probably more than I should be).
Oh God! Natural light! No one appears to be watching those, so I would assume that they are still going to go blue. Trump tried a last minute dash to win over those two states and Pennsylvania (the typical attempt by Republicans to win over what are light blue states, but not putting enough time into them) but I'm not sure there's a lot to worry about there.

Thanks. And I thought I was going crazy because neither the article nor his Twitter said anything about voting for Trump.
Well to them Clinton doesn't count cause she's a race traitor or something.
EDIT: Trump's motion in Nevada over early polling has been denied.

Reading tropes such as You Know What You Did
If he did vote Trump, and I'm seriously considering drinking myself to death if he wins, what's the charge? Not up on current voting laws, if Hopkins did vote Trump then what crime had he committed?

. Most of them are regional (check if you live near a major city) but national/regional chains I see at a glance include Krispy Kreme, 7-11 and P. F. Chang's.

I still don't see where it says "Trump", either.
