I hate to admit it, but that's what I was thinking as well. (It's Ikuhara, I expect a certain amount of strangeness along those lines)
What the heck. Even Yuri is fucked up in some way. And oh god, that scene with Ringo and Shoma is heartbreaking.
A couple of pages back, I wanted to see how this show will get more and more fucked up. It hasn't disappointed yet.

MAL || vndb || BlogThis was just... what.
No, really. What the fuck.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialWell...the animation in the opening sequence with Yuri's car was gorgeous.
Not really sure what to think of the ending scene.
Tumblr here.Well, they were both childhood friends who were devoted to Momoka, it may just be a case of "no-one else could possibly understand". They may not be romantically in love, but they are friends.
...Now watch the next episode prove me completely wrong.

I'm getting the feeling that Tabuki may be just as fucked up as Yuri is. Maybe he wants to see Momoko again just as badly as Yuri does and this was the plan they came up with. Since Ringo has seems to have given up on Project M, they had to take some extreme measures. I mean really, how does a guy not notice a high school stalker living under his house.
I thought the same thing!
I bet you by the end of this series, we're going to see that everyone is fucked up.
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.
Heh. Also, does this ARB song sound familiar?
You know, they are apparently going to release an entire album of ARB covers by Triple H sometime in December.
I wonder if Ikuhara is using ARB songs in Penguindrum for any reason in particular, or if he is just using them because he likes them.
