Oh, derp, I did miss that. Sorry. Never mind. tongue

I still say we should have a rural village like that, though, somewhere.

In that case: Water gym Leader - Allegra, an enthusiastic musician who loves water Pokemon. Often plays her violin or sings while looking out over the canals, and knows her way around the city better than anyone.

Anyway here's Blackwall

Yes!

Also, anyone have qualms about romance subplots?

[up][up][up]Somehow I feel like she'd get along pretty well with Carmina. Either that or they'd be bitter rivals, ahah.

[up][up]Nothing wrong with those. They can be pretty fun to play out, after all.

[up]Um... I'd assume somewhere between... 10 and 14, I guess? That's the general age range for starting trainers, I think.

...I think.

...Also, I'd advise appending an "appearance" field onto the sign-up (I only just realised it was missing >.<), because... That's kind of important, after all.

Also also by law every PC must have a Nice Hat or suffer the totally ungroovy consequences. Joking, joking... Or am I~? >.> <.<

I'd always imagined them a little... older...

Oh, derp, appearance. Of course.

OK, I'll test out this fandangled signup sheet thing, then:

  • Name: Emiliana
  • Age: 14
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: About average height for her age, with very long red hair and olive skin, as well as blue eyes. Wears a black beret at all times, adding a black trenchcoat in cold weather. Wears glasses, but switches them to sunglasses with prescription lenses when she's trying to be "cool," which is often. Apart from that, she usually wears a tunic-like dress with tights and tall boots.
  • Starter: Oshawott
    • Moveset: Tackle, Tail Whip
  • Personality: Emiliana is somewhat aloof; she is quite intelligent and sees herself as being very mature, and acts in a condescending manner towards others. At the moment, she wants to become a Pokemon Trainer because of a wish to get out of her hometown and see more of the world; however, she most certainly doesn't want to lose to any of the other new Trainers, so she studied Pokemon a great deal and will end up putting a lot of effort into selecting and training her team. She doesn't have too many friends, thanks to being a bit of a snob, so she is also very glad to be getting a Pokemon as a friend.
  • Background: Grew up in Harissa Town, but didn't think much of the place. Emiliana always dreamed of getting out of there; she had a vague wish to become a researcher, but seeing as becoming a Trainer would allow her to leave home earlier, she chose to challenge the League instead.
  • Other: Nothing I can think of at the moment; I'll probably develop her character more as I go along.

This seems to be coming along nicely. :)

And I call Treecko!

Edit: Argh, beaten to it! Oh well I'll pick something else.

Edit 2: Is Chikorita taken?

I want my character to be at least 14.

My sentiment exactly. At least fourteen. That sort of differentiates between a pokemon trainer and a youngster for me.

You could take Snivy. They're... very similar... wait a minute!

Mmmm, okays. We'll go with 14-16, I guess? Either that or just make everyone 14 (which... Would make a kind of sense, if this is an annual event where kids get their first Pokemon or something as some kind of coming of age thing)... Hmmm.

Also, um... Emiliana is approved~ Hmmm, better get to work on my own character...

Sijo from Puerto Rico Since: Jan, 2001
#62: Aug 11th 2011 at 8:59:28 PM

Ok, I'll take Snivy instead.

Here's my character (so far, subject to change):

  • Name: Johnny Smith
  • Age: 14 (will be 15 in a few weeks)
  • Gender: male
  • Appearance: Looks like an older Ash, except with tan skin (he's Latino, or the local equivalent. He doesn't use Gratuitous Spanish however.) Wears similar clothes too except his are colored light green and dark blue.
  • Starter: Snivy (he calls it "Sneev")
    • Moveset: Tackle (will soon learn more moves)
  • Personality: Introverted. He's not unfriendly, he's just not a "people person". He's the kind who had rather read a book than hang out with people. But inside he wishes he had more friends. He hopes this adventure will help him come out of his shell.
  • Background: Johnny is from Castelia City, in Unova. His parents died when he was small- he doesn't even remember them- and was raised by his sister, a doctor. Although she cared about him her responsibilities didn't leave much time to spend with her brother. So Johnny filled his life with books and TV. This led to his becoming fairly smart, but not terribly sociable. Johnny is a friend of Professor Juniper (the older one) and he wants to be a Pokemon Researcher like him, not a Trainer or a Coordinator; That is why he never went on his "pokemon trip" until now. He's been assigned to fill in the Pokedex of this region for the Professor. He doesn't care about beating the League, but will try the gyms out to get the control medals.
  • Other: He likes weird pokemon; his team will eventually include things like Porygon, Castform and Darmanitan.

[up][up]You have my approval... but can we get a hat? It's a tradition. (I'm mostly joking)

  • Name: Dominic (Dom to his friends)
  • Age: 14
  • Gender: male
  • Appearance: Black hair, green eyes, pale skin. He wears a white turtleneck, a royale blue jacket over that, deep black pants, and similarly colored running shoes. He has glasses with black, wire frames, and transitions lenses, as well as a pair of prescription sunglasses (polarized) just in case those aren't enough or he needs eye protection now. His hat, his pride and joy, is a Black Trilby with a red pinstripe design.
  • Starter: Totodile
    • Moveset: Tackle, Leer
  • Personality: He's generally really friendly. He's extremely intelligent (genius-level), and he knows it, but he doesn't let it go to his head (much). He makes a few egotistical jokes occasionally, but he's obviously joking. He wanted to be a star, but then he realized that not only was a coordinator much more within reach, but it would be more fun, having a pokemon to teach. He loves music, dance, and acting.
  • Background: He grew up in this town, and he loves it with all his heart, but... he knows there's more out there for him than small town life. He decided that he had to get out of there while he was still young, before his wanderlust burned out. He refused to be one of those old folks in the retirement homes who get bitter and angry because they let all their opportunities slip by.
  • Other: He's got the moves like Jagger (Song reference. Sorry, had to put that here)

I just got an idea about Team Genome. Professor Wattieza starts out in jail, and is running the Team from there. They would, of course, be broken out eventually.

I also have ideas about where the Legendaries should be. Monterus would probably be in a forest on the mountains to the north, Sneg would be in Mintleaf forest, and Nocturn would be in an abandoned, and haunted, mansion. The evil legendary would be beneath the Elite Four.

Lets see about the Elite Four. The first one is James a sort of Gladiator with mostly Fighting pokemon, but with one or two Dark types (think sand in the eyes). He would be a Boisterous Bruiser. Second is Jonathon, a aeronaut with Flying type pokemon. He would be obsessed with speed, and have really fast pokemon. Next is Harvey, a stuck up rich guy with mostly Dragon types. He would be all haughty and snooty. Finally, there is Jess, a extremely aggressive young woman who rose as far as she did as much through sheer force of personality as through skill. She has mostly Electric type pokemon.

Finally, for the Champion, there is Joseph. Joseph was a childhood friend to Julia, the former Champion. He fell in love with her at a young age, and took up pokebattling to remain close with her. He found that, despite his Shrinking Violet nature, he was a natural at it. However, Julia always surpassed him, mostly through hard work. He was fine with this, as he didn't mind being less than Julia. He traveled with Julia a long time, and they remained friends, but only he viewed their relationship as ever being anything but friends, but he was never one to speak up for himself, or fight for himself. Eventually, the two of them joined the Elite Four, with her quickly becoming Champion, and him rising to just below her. However, she quit being Champion, and got herself a new team, but he felt it was his duty to take over in her place, and became Champion. Now he longs to be with her, and will find any excuse to visit her in her Gym. He has mostly Rock types and focuses on defense.

Um... I kinda already made a list of what types the Elite Four would have, though... Namely electric, ghost, dragon and bug (from first to last in that order). Gah, I didn't sleep at all last night, so I'll go over it and see what we can do with it once I'm in a more lucid state. >.<

Speaking of which, this was, um, kind of written whilst I was half-asleep, so if it seems kinda half-assed, well... I'll probably try and tidy it up later. >.<

  • Name: Rin
  • Age: 14
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Rin is about average height for her age, and flat as a board. She has short, messy black hair and green eyes. She usually dresses in a boyish style, her favourite outfit being a dark green sleeveless jacket atop a long sleeved black t-shirt, and a pair of khaki shorts. Due to her appearance and general attitude, she is sometimes mistaken for a somewhat feminine looking boy, although during the rare occasions that she dresses and acts more like a girl she's actually rather cute. Wears a Santa hat, no matter what the season.
  • Starter: Bulbasaur
    • Moveset: Tackle, Growl
  • Personality: Rather goofy and, whilst not dumb, possessed of a rather strange worldview. Rin is something of a tomboy, and always got along better with the guys than she did with other girls. Nevertheless, she is still very outgoing and finds it easy to talk with just about anyone. She has a habit of trying to convice people she sees as "uptight" to not take things so seriously, and believes that since life is short it should be lived to the fullest and enjoyed whilst you have the chance. The only thing she's really serious about is her goal of becoming the Pokémon League Champion, something she has dreamed about for as long as she can remember.
  • Background: Rin's family have lived in Harissa Town for several generations now, and her parents are old friends of Dogwood and Olive. Because of these connections, Rin was able to get a part-time job helping out at the research center, and her near-constant exposure to Pokémon led her to become utterly fascinated with them. As a child she'd love to watch Pokémon battles, and after a chance encounter with the (now former) champion Julia she decided that there was no other goal she wanted to set for herself other than to become the greatest Pokémon League Champion ever! She's been waiting for the day she gets her first Pokémon and can set out on her journey to achieve this goal ever since.

[up][up][up] Oh, Johnny has the traditional baseball cap, of course! wink In his case it's light green.

Thanks for having me. In celebration of the occasion I'm changing my Avatar to resemble Johnny. (Wrong color clothes but it'll have to do.)

And I think our PCs personalities (so far) will play off each other wonderfully. I can see Johnny being turned off by Emiliana's unfriendly manners, and by Rin's too friendly ones. [lol] But they will all get to be good friends once they get past that stage.

I quite like the Champion, personally... That implies Julia is a canon (RP canon) character now, though. tongue

Also, edited Emiliana's age to fit in with everyone else's. She's fourteen.

Edit - Also, I can easily see Emiliana arguing with Dom a lot. She's going to constantly want to prove that she is smarter than him. It's going to take a lot of convincing from the other P Cs to actually make her a friendly person. tongue
