In the random amount of episodes I've seen recently...that pig never showed up, I doesn't know.

I watched the show a lot back in the day and I pretty clearly remember that Abner the pig was Arnold's pet.

Abner did have a few episodes that revolved around him. There was one where he ran away from Sunset Arms and another where he was used in a Revolutionary War re-enactment that was centered around a pig.

Pig War's an awesome episode, too.

Usually he showed up for gags, though.

The altered designs are caused by the movie taking place 1 year later so they're all aged up. But I'm sure someone said that already.

And it's not like the art and animation didn't evolve in the original run, too. I sometimes think that people look for excuses to yell Ruined Forever.

I don't think anyone's going that far. They're just saying Gerald looks a little off-model in the promotional picture. Everyone else looks fine.

He looks alright in the height chart though.

@that Gerald

aside from that everyone looks basically exactly the same to me just with slightly different outfits and Helga having started puberty

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

Everyone's eyes and faces are weird - standard expressions with overly prominent features - but I pegged that as being because it's promo art and not actual animation.

Gerald's kinda stands out most noticeably to me, mostly in that image where he's on the stoop with Arnold and Helga. Human eyes haven't been that far out since Tex Avery died.

I don't really have an overall issue, though, that's a nitpick I can look past if it's consistent with the actual animation.

Buzzfeed article, ick. Also those shoes were red, not pink, you're an idiot author.

I love these redesigns. Helga looks a lot more mature in this movie and Phoebe looks way too cool and cute in this movie. Arnold and Gerald also really cool in those "cool new sneakers".

gotta fix arnold's undershirt because it'd just be the worst thing if folks thought he was wearing a skirt -__-

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

People have been thinking it was a skirt for years, the show even addressed it one time.

This looks way less like a skirt then it did in the original series.

Aren't those the same designs and images they showed us last year? I mean, don't get me wrong I love the added artist commentary, but still.

[up][up]Yeah, I know. But now apparently people thinking it's a skirt is bad so they've gotta change it I guess.

Well, yeah. If there's an element of a character design that people commonly misinterpret I can see why that would be considered a weakness, and be fixed when they're redesigning everything anyway.

Does anyone actually read these?

Personally, one of my favorite episodes is "Partners" when Arnold & Gerald have a tiff. It shows that not all friendships are perfect, and it was nice to see them reconcile at the end.

Here's our teaser!:

Copying my thoughts from the Nickelodeon thread:

The voices they got for the boys are uncannily similar to their best-known V As. Arnold still sounds like Arnold.

So far, looking good. It looks like Arnold and co need to win their trip to San Lorenzo, which I guess will make up the first part.

And all the characters up there and in the video...the Pigeon Man, Stoop Kid, that weird kid who stole Arnold's baseball for no reason...they even remembered Coach Wittenberg had a son!

The returning voices still have it, the new voices all sound good, the animation pops, and Tucker suddenly exists again.
