She tilted her head...

"...is there something wrong you'd like to talk about...?" she asked him gently, "It's alright if you don't want to talk about it, of course..."

Virgil looked at the little girl.

"Hmmm... I suppose you can't really do much with the information... Very well then."

Virgil took out the two halves of his broken sword.

"I come from a race of immortals. I've been alive now for over 150 years now. The thing is, our powers are contain within a single object of our choice. For me, it was this sword. It was a perfect idea, the sword itself is...was the most powerful ever made. I'm also not on good terms with my race, or humans for that matter, but alas, that's what 50 years of mass murder will get you: a bad reputation. The things is, the last 6 months have been erased from my memory, and when I woke up with this briefcase, I found my sword inside, broken. No one could have possibly done that. The worst part is, this means I can die now, and that is NOT a comfortable state for me to be in."

"...you... killed people?" she said, rather surprised. The concept was one she had difficulty understanding on the whole, "...how do you live with that? Very few people deserve to die..."

Virgil laughed.

"Clearly you haven't met a member of my race. From our earliest years the first thing we are taught is the value of life...well, OUR life. The lives of mortal races are expendable. While I do agree with their sentiment, I've made a living of proving that the lives of even the greatest of my race are also expendable."

Virgil shifted in his chair.

"Now stop with your incessant 'nobody deserves to die' crap. You're beginning to remind me of someone."

"...Incessant? I stated it once, thank-you-very-much," she replied frowning just a bit, "but still, that blade is quite the mystery... and you say you... had powers?"

"Of course! I could heal any wound, and never become ill. I'm also more agile than you could imagine. All in all, I was perfect."

"Very interesting," she said, "sounds almost like perhaps some subset of the abilities of my people... Perhaps some crossbreed, long ago..."

Virgil sighed.

"Perhaps. But now, I am no longer immortal, and I don't even have my sword for defense."

She nodded sympathetically, "I can see how that would put one on edge, I wasn't nearly as composed as I am now in the time immediately after Titania bound me in a changeling form, with no means to access my powers..."

"You are quite smart, for a child. Nevertheless, what I really need right now is a stiff drink."

Xenosaur managed to ignore most of the conversations in the room, until he heard the words, "No long immortal."

"No long immortal you say, but how are you immortal in the first place. Surely is can not be through magic, magic doesn't exist, at least where I am from." Xenosaur began to ponder if he had finally went batshit insane and if this was some complex hallucination.

"Of course magic exists," Celeste interjected, "I've seen it firsthand, after all."

"Nonsense, magic is for fantasy stories and tales of the fae, only science exist to bring all species to greatness. The concept of magic is powerless to the pure truth of science." Xenosaur retorted with his usual idealistic views.

Xenosaur nodded his head at Virgil, "Indeed only the power of science does man, or any other species, bring himself to the ultimate level, and if anyone is interested I can show you the power of science."

He reached for his back as he pulled a long piece of equipment, it had a couple switces and was attached to the device on his back, "This my friends, is a Medigun, a device capable of healing any injury except death through an energy made from a special element." Xenosaur examined the device with great care, for the device was very precious.

"Any injury, huh?"

Virgil took a long look at the device.

"Pathetic. I was able to do heal any injury on my body since I was born."

"Well, yeah, naturally man has had issues with magic," Celeste said, "Largely because evil exists on both sides, and, well.. the dark magic can accomplish far outweighs that in the reach of science."

"Where I come from, magic could be learned by basically anyone capable of surviving the training. Of course, all it surmounted to was some cheap parlour tricks."

"...a powerful dark Fae, could make it as if people had never existed, depending on their level of protection," she said, "but the last time a human used true magic... Well. It didn't end well. At all."

Xenosaur was offended at Virgil's comment, "Pathetic sir, I know not, in fact, I might be able to show a demonstration."

He took a bonesaw like device, "My hyper bonesaw."

In one quick slash, his entire left arm was removed. As the bloody arm lay on the floor, he aimed the Medigun toward himself, as a glowing light enveloped him. As the light hit him, his arm and the blood on the floor began to lift itself, back to his arm, reattaching itself as it healed the entire wound.

He breathed in, "That is one of the powers of medical sciences," he said as he switched off the device.

Virgil stared at the device again.

"You must destroy that thing. If humans were to get their hands on a device like that... It's unnatural."

Xenosaur wagged his finger on the arm he just reattached, "Oh no sir, humans already have this device where I am from, I invented it, perfected it, and kept the best ones for my current career."

"No, you can't do that! It upsets the natural balance of things! Humans are soft! You can't just GIVE them something like that!"

"Humans... can surprise you, Virgil," Celeste said, "I have seen some of their best- and worst- in my home at Riverview... But one thing I can say, is they are not, on the whole, soft. I am... amazed, at what some of them have gone through."

"Hardly, the most powerfull human I met in the end turned out to be little more than a scared girl, not knowing anything of what she has involved herself in."
