Okay, the first episode explained absolutely nothing.
For example, what the hell was that praying mantis-doll thing? Why is a seemingly innocent schoolgirl a trained killer? What's her father's deal and why is her relationship with him so goddamn creepy?
On the plus side though, the end of the OP was incredibly badass and Noodle People remain funny no matter how much CLAMP I'm exposed to. So I'm not really sure where I sit with this series yet.

Wait, is this show related to Blood The Last Vampire or Blood Plus in any way?
^Same franchise, Alternate Continuity
I found it kind of odd. It felt old; using a lot of tropes that aren't often played straight anymore. And Saya is the only character that looks like she actually belongs in school
Still, I don't believe I've ever seen a Shinto take on vampires before, so I'll give it at least one more episode for that alone
I was kinda getting that impression too.
First impression: Start looks like your average Magical Girl anime.
Then, of course, itīs CLAMP. They always like to start their stories sweet and innocent, so that they can later stab them into their backs, when no one is expecting it anymore...
... Okay, Saya is magical sure, but this definitely does not seem like that kind of show.
I have high hopes for this show. Remember, X was a shojo manga, and most of it would be horrific if the characters weren't so goddamn *pretty*. Not to mention that the antagonist was pretty much Lucifer, and seemed to take real joy in making people suffer.
Also, for some reason, I really, really like the OP. I'm surprised at all the different continuities (I even have the Visual Novel PS 2 game!) but this might quite possibly be good. I expect things to get violent and disturbing really, really soon.
The OP is amazingly badass at the end, so I hope Saya moves on to some real asskicking soon.
x6: In that case, I'll be all over this show.
Aside from Fujisaku Junichi being involved with both (in different positions), there's not much staff overlap. I'm not sure how similar it'll turn out
Just saw it, pretty good so far, (loving the OP ) my only complaint are the incredibly long and seemingly pointless scenes. Like when Saya was running home from school, was something following her? And what the hell was up with that puppy? Maybe it will be explained in a later episode.
Oh, and if this will be anything like Blood Plus, those scenes showing Saya as a cheerful, moe, and sort of ditzy high school girl? Don't expect them to last.

It's been a while, but I distinctly recall Blood Plus having a large number of drawn out and pointless scenes, and a fair amount of Slice of Life scenes even after the plot picked up. Many of which coincided
Well that was very...CLAMP. It was very good though, I love the opening and I thought the school uniforms were cool.
I do have one question though, was it just me or did the "puppy" have some Kitsune like facial markings.

Those uniforms were awesome. I mean, black and red with chains connecting the collar? Awesome.
It doesn't seem to be at all similar to Blood Plus, going by the characters present and such... Maybe Haji or summat will show later, I dunno.
Pretty good, though. Will probably watch again next week.
Going to have to wait a bit longer than a week; this was an early airing, and the next episode will air on the 14th
Hm. That's strange.
I was hoping CLAMP would be involved in this like they were with Code Geass so it could keep the Blood feel while having the CLAMP look, sadly It's abit too heavy on the CLAMP for me. I'm still hoping David and Louis show up soon though.
What's up with her glasses? Saya from any Blood work shouldn't need glasses, she's supposed to have better eyesight than anyone and are they super-glued to her face or something? I don't think she even had to adjust them once no matter what happened.
The OP is great though, very reminiscent of colors of the heart in some places.
Overall this just feels like a CLAMP show using the Blood name, even Saya was made into a standard Clamp heroine. I'll keep watching for a few more episodes to see where it goes from here.

I don't get why some of you are expecting it to be anything like Blood Plus; I was hoping Blood Plus would be like Blood The Last Vampire and I was bitterly disappointed. For now I'm just glad there's a new CLAMP anime playing and it involves vampires.
I'm hoping it moves into darker territory. I mean, I guess a high school girl who kicks monsters' butts is dark in some ways, but I'm hoping we can get into the traditional CLAMP juicy dark stuff.
As for the character designs, like everyone else said, they were very...CLAMP.
KSPAM: I do so love those uniforms. <3 Wish I could go to a school with uniforms like that in real life.
I'm really just psyched to see another CLAMP anime out. I'm a CLAMP fangirl to the max, and I'll always adore their works. But being a huge fan of them also makes me extremely critical of their works. So I really hope this will fulfill my expectations (I think I'm also still bitter about the xxxHolic ending...).

Yeah, Tsubasa's ending was just... gah, my brain!
EDIT: I can't stop listening to the OP!
Everything after :45 is just a Crowning Moment Of Awesome Music (blatant Fanservice aside )

Just a reminder, Niconico's English site will be streaming episodes of this show every Thursday after they are broadcast.

There's no way that's her real father because she was blushing when he touched her fingers.
You... are new to CLAMP, I take it?
CLAMP are the queens of uncomfortable sexual subtext.
