"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Oh man. That's hilarious.
Thank you for your support and for being great fans! Fuck you. We don't give a shit about what you want. Buy other games, assholes, we need more money.
> because of anime backlash?
What anime backlash?
You mean that recent episode of a recent show called Pokemon when kids got seizures?

I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul. So, Aminatep. Ever wonder why the Anime discussion board on TV Tropes is called "Manga and Anime"?
It's because it was changed from "Anime and Manga" as part of an effort to restructure the site to remove anime trope entries from the top of pages.
You know why?
Because the admins noticed people were apparently fleeing the site because the first entries for many tropes were anime.
That's the anime backlash. A bunch of idiots who think their penises will fall off if they are exposed to anime. Oh, and it's pretty much always guys that do this too.
But Anime starts with an A and manga starts with an M! Hasn't anyone pointed that out yet?!
oh right, on-topic. ahem...
And companies wonder why people like to pirate their games so much...
RAGE consume you!

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Yes. Many times.
That's why the category was going to be changed - so "Manga and Anime" would be halfway down the page. There was even a contingent of editors at the time hellbent on doing it themselves just so they didn't have to look at anime examples. This is also part of the reason we have folders - so they could at least hide those evil, evil anime examples.
> A bunch of idiots who think their penises will fall off if they are exposed to anime.
I've recently stumbled on a human being who said "I considered watching anime but then I remembered that I'm straight" (He was wearing an MLP:FiM avatar, mind you) but what the flying butterfly, why are those people considered a significant portion of market.
> and it's pretty much always guys that do this too.
Well from my experience there's plenty of girls who think of you as a retarded manchild if you dare watch cartoons on their watch, but those people don't read TV Tropes.
> "Manga and Anime" would be halfway down the page
I can see a reason that's not related to this backlash at all.
Anime and manga fandom in non-Japan, being based on purely an imported curiosity, is pretty closed, it's impervious to Pop-Cultural Osmosis. An average viewer will recognize references to pretty much all the 100 most popular movies or songs of all time, but he won't recognize references to 100 most popular anime series. An encyclopedia (not a catalogue, Fast Eddie) that's bound on categorizing all the tropes of populat culture shouldn't top their example lists with something obscure only because the Latin alphabet works so.

Possibly, but at the same time, if we're insisting on keeping things alphabetical (which was the goal at the time), then it makes no sense to rewrite a category name just to knock down a set of entries you or a strange segment of the population doesn't like. I know there were other attempts to redo all of the categories for accuracy (for starters, Western Animation tends to confuse the crap out of people who wonder if films count or not, and then there's the issue of non-Japanes Asian animation not technically having a category at all), but those all fizzled.
Point is, that's how strong and vocal the anti-Anime bros are. Now translate that to games. Hell, look at Kotaku's main page right now - there's a topic that's essentially trying to get as many of those dipshits to start trolling as possible by showing how the new Atelier game is selling so well.
Sucks to be American, I guess. But since the message is usually "Sucks to be European" when it comes to gaming, because of the high prices of those few good games that do get a release, I'm sure you can take the hit for now.
*
I wonder what is so great about the European market, though. I don't go on European sites that often, but as far as I know, anti-weeaboo mentality is also quite strong here. Except among Nintendo fans, that is. Those really love their weird Japanese shit.

Nintendo just doesn't give a shit, do they?
Console Wars are stupid, but now they're just trying to push my buttons. I'd gladly jump ship to another platform and become some shootan gaems bro if they're gonna keep this up.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Sooooooooooo, you people think that these three are only games that people want to get released? And they are wanted by so many that Nintendo should release them? *is getting kind of tired from the whole export complaining thing, I myself have tons of games I want which I can't get, but lately I've realized its not that big deal*
I'd like to get them released there, but I'm getting kind of sick about these kind of stuff
^^ Which is, nearest I can tell, partly intentional on Nintendo's part. They've done this with a lot of previous generations of consoles. (It's harder to do without cartridge pins, though.)
^ Still not sure why that happened. :p

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Well, given I will have a modern gaming PC by the time the first two come out in Europe and No A doesn't WANT my money...
- : How's Dolphin for the Japanese versions of the games?
- : How's a wired 360 pad for classic controller games?

Honestly, I don't see those three as games which would sell a lot o-o I would still buy them if I get chance, but still.
