Some snippets on Shadal technology.
Gemini Cores: These small devices are quantum entanglement devices that can be used to transfer energy instantly from point A to point B. They come a wide variety and power scales, considering how A can be tuned up to take the output of a star and B on a conventional weapon. Incidentally this also allows for instantaneous transmission, but it comes for a steep prize. Once the link is "severed" it must be "reconnected" with both parts in the same place.
Automatons, or Auts: Once Shadal lost all its former glory and its thralls, some changes to their social system were made. Automatons were suggested at first timidly, but soon they grew accepted as part of the arsenal of shadal after vanquishing the rogue AI's and their machines that had been rampant since the activation of the Universal Constructors. Wanting to avoid past mistakes, however, these machines do have limited cognition, merely being tools who follow their master's orders in the petty tasks.
Servitors: The alternative to Automatons in the early stages of post-cataclysm, Servitors are cloned members of a species that the Shadal have come across in order to serve them in menial slave labor. Initially they were made out of the extensive Ky-ree DNA samples, but over time they diversified to include more races. Servitors are steadily in decline of use due to the political implications they bear and the sturdiness of automatons.
Philosopher Cores: Wondrous devices who are just a step behind the dreaded universal constructor, these contraptions allow to build complicated molecular structures from the raw purified elemental basis. Its value stems in that it can replicate any chemical imaginable, although it is not advisable for mass production, nor food production for that matter. It is cost efficient when researching new alloys and making medicines, however.
The only ESSENTIAL positions would be medical officer, chief engineer, and captain. Other positions can be filled by crew but while the ship is in extended-range travel, it's simple AI controlled.
I'll have a full list when I get home, along with my racial details.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Okay so I lied about that, but still. Working on the race now.
When can we expect to get started?
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Well, duh. When is all the necessary information for that coming around? Habberdash?
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Uh, hi! X3
Alright, I'm starting to outline factions, besides The Federation. so if you havent included stella-political alignment or designation in any racial profiles that would be neat.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?I guess not. Can we get a signup sheet or something? Just randomly start posting our character ideas?
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Check, one two testing, check check, is this thing on?
How many of you still watching this? I have an idea that, while different might be able to incorporate a lot of our work here...
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?...On second thought I should take this to PM's. But it's ncie to see people haven't forgotten their work.
Some of the heavy-duty worldbuilders here will receive a PM from me, with an offer on a chance to revive their work on racial or governmental stuff.

How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?

SOCR: Well, there'd have to be species-based variants. Humans and their allies (the name escapes me, will recap in a mo) would likely be able to use the same models, but species with different physical specs would require something built to their standards.
As far as special training goes, I don't think tha'd be necessary anyway; after all, power armour is such a useful thing that training military or paramilitary personnel to use it would be as obvious as training them to use a gun.
