I am thinking it will probably work out out that whenever the party strays into the 'home' region of a particular character, that player will most likely be the GM for that arc, since they would know the backstory for the region best.

H:44F(8/30)S|G:19F(0/10)SWell, i didn't mean that players could only GM areas where their players are from. The first time an area is used, however, the player who created it would probably be the one narrating it; 'home' areas are just the most obvious example of this. The vote/veto system of controlling the introduction of setting elements would be used partially to ensure consistency of setting in place of an 'over-GM.'

However, with an over-GM, a overarching mystery could be formed without the players knowing the all the answers. It would get boring to know all the answers. For that purpose, an over-GM would be wonderful. Of course, there are other options. We could be focused on a singlar goal without an overarching mystery, OR we could have a mystery the players know about, but the characters don't, OR, and this is my favorite idea, EACH player creates a separate overarching mystery, which are eventually weaved together, that we have to solve.
That might be an interesting option, though for the first 'story arc,' it might be best if we play as though we are using a more orthodox system with eX as the GM (with a GM NPC) and the rest of us as players, so that we can establish group dynamics. If we finish the party forming arc with mysteries unsolved, those would then be eX's mysteries to introduce as he sees fit when it is possible to weave them into subsequent arcs (perhaps by coordinating with the current GM and controlling pertinent NPC s). Even if we are going to have a GM for each arc, this is multi-paragraph freeform, so there is still a large amount of narrative freedom on the part of the players. If we need a designated 'moderator' to know all the secrets and keep them straight, so as to suggest points at which to insert them into the story, then we can decide on that once we get the hang of this (by playing!)

H:44F(8/30)S|G:19F(0/10)SPerhaps, though not every player may have mysteries that they can (or will want to) begin foreshadowing via their character immediately. For instance, some parts of the character plot for Daltar's character would probably come up fairly early, as having a younger sister along in dangerous situations is obviously odd, but the character may not immediately wish to relate to these strangers that her sister is fae-blooded, or that she's searching for a refuge. Conversely, Zach may not even realize that his 'mystery' will be learning of his true parentage (or whatever it is) until after the first arc is over. I'm just saying that we should let the plot reveals develop organically. ^_^
H:44F(8/30)S|G:19F(0/10)SI actually assumed that much of the action would be done by the players themselves anyway. Every player can create new NPC and push the plot in new directions, and the GM only intervenes when there is a problem, hence the whole veto and voting system to replace him.

Well not everyone necessarily needs to include actual Foreshadowing, but a healthy dose of Fauxshadowing Would help keep the mystery alive. Again, not actually necessary

I've got no objections. We should probably sound off to briefly outline who our characters are and what our characters would most likely be up to in the inn (in case it affects the setting; this may not be necessary if folks aren't doing anything that other people would notice, or if you want to make an 'entrance.')
Finn: Traveling Bard and the night's entertainment; otherwise unobtrusive. Most likely in the inn common room, either preparing for or performing a lively 'current events' puppet show to pass on stories and information regarding nearby regions and the country as a whole. News will most likely center on the current civil unrest, perhaps in a slightly satirical or embellished vein to keep it entertaining and to play to the mood of the crowd.

H:44F(8/30)S|G:19F(0/10)S"The Chronicles Of Generica."
But seriously, I got nuthin...
I've conditioned myself to recognise the "Multi-Paragraph Freeform RP" title, myself but if anyone can think of something better, I have no objections.

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.![]()
It's not a bad name for a Punch And Judy show ^_^;...
I wonder if folks would mistake it for a "Legend of the Legendary Heroes" RP. Perhaps we could use "Generic Realms RP" if we wanted to play off of D&D and the 'themed' fae realms of the not-quite-so-generic setting.
So you're still here, Moerin? Planning on posting up a character?

Sure, if nobody objects.
