I think you're talking about Kidd Video.
Interesting you should mention Kidd Video. The Power Team's background music is largely lifted directly from Kidd Video, at least in this episode.
btw, the characters in Kidd Video were not pre-teens. They were played by people who were all at least 18, and generally behaved as if they were supposed to be approximately college age.

Nice find! I never really liked Captain N due to what they did to Mega Man and Simon Belmont, yet I didn't mind the inaccuracies in Power Team since the games represented on that show were crappy to begin with (to be fair, I've never played Arch Rivals and Kwirk seems kind of fun). It didn't matter to me that Max Force didn't wear his helmet or that they based Kuros' design on Fabio instead of the knight in the actual game. The show seems more fun than I remember after seeing that clip. It's no animated masterpiece of course, but it's still as cheesy like the day I first saw it.
It's pretty hilarious that Kuros and Max are the only truly "heroic" characters and the other three are just a black guy with a basketball, an anthropomorphic vegetable, and a talking monster truck. They could have used the Player 2 guy from N.A.R.C. if they truly needed a token black guy (especially given that the main villains are also from N.A.R.C.), but I'm guessing "Hitman" isn't exactly the kind of name you would want to give to a heroic character in a kid-friendly cartoon. Also, it's funny to see Mr. Big, Joe Rockhead and Spike Rush being reduced to monopolizing the tomato markets, considering they were originally drug dealers in N.A.R.C.

Who here is familiar with Captain N? A lot of you, I'm sure. How about The Power Team? If you've read Captain SNES, then no, they're not something that was made up.
The Power Team is, basically, a knockoff of Captain N made to shill Acclaim properties, wrapped up in a framing show about a totally radical dude named Johnny Arcade sharing hot tips for the latest games.
Basically, it's a microcosm of everything that was ridiculous about 90s pop culture (which is to say, everything).
Why do I bring it up, you may ask? Because an episode of it recently surfaced on Youtube, so you can experience it for yourself. It is hilarious. It has to be seen to be believed.
