I got bored and kinda sick about 2.36 in. As a muslim I say... "Wha..?" Well, I mean, it is just one guy, so who gives a damn about his opinion. '40% want sharia?' I don't where the hell he gets his facts from, but I'm gonna say he got them from Reuters. Everyone loves buzzwords! I'm not saying Islamophobia is not a real thing, but there was a BBC Panorama documentary once that had a muslim couple move into the outskirts of a city. They had hidden cameras, and on average, they got racially abused about three or four times a day.
Haven't all monotheistic religions got some dark clause about pillaging and shit? Doesn't the Bible have a bit about slavery? I don't really care much. This guy can say what ever he wants. I disagree with what he says, but by gum, I'd fight a war to ensure he can still say it. Even so, he Did Not Do The Research. Contrary to belief, people interpret the Qu'ran in different ways - one guy even managed to find a verse that predicted George Bush winning the election. It's the word of god, yes, but the word 'oh' can be interpreted in many ways also.
I don't support violence. I have met many people in my short time on this planet, and most of the time, people have good intentions and want to get on with their life. I've travelled to many a place. I have met many a religious person, and not one is a crazy nutcase. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with Shariah and all that jazz but I don't agree with street gangs, domestic abuse, etc., that we have here. Al Qaeda are outcasts, the Taliban are nutters, and Osama Bin-Laden was wanted dead by many muslim people too.
No, see. the thing is. People already assume all of those countries are muslim, and therefore terrorists.
What really bugs me is how most of the nation isnt paranoid at all about Israel despite how often they've backstabbed us just because of "Its the holee land !!!11!!1!"

They're both antagonizing eachother, but at least Isreal waits until citizens are near their final height to start indoctrinating them.
It's the lesser of two evils, although not by much.
If the UN actually had a pair, I'd say they should occupy the whole area and set up one secular state.
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter. That video is booooring ... I got tired after two minutes of straw men on "political correctness" and accusations of islamophobia. Yes, some idiot leftists might cry "Islamophobia", but he's trying to give the impression that he's a lone rebel defying the politically correct orthodoxy by criticizing Islam, whereas everybody criticizes Islam and among non-Muslims, only a minority of loons whines about Islamophobia.
It's OK to criticize Islam, but don't go pretend that makes you a daring rebel. Maybe I'm misinformed and this fantasyland where you get condemned for criticizing Islam really exists, but so far I've only seen it in the imagination of right-wingers.
(Not that left-wingers don't rant and rage against imaginary right-wingers either)
Point that somewhere else, or I'll reengage the harmonic tachyon modulator.![]()
I agree. Why don't we just return to the borders determined in the 40s/50s by the UN: Jerusalem and surrounding area to become an international, UN-mandated zone, to which only the UN holds ownership, Israel move back and stop encroaching on Palestinian territory, job done. Of course, doing it would require a lot of persuasion of Netanyahu (or whatever), and considering the past few years, the best Obama has got him to do is to go at a slower pace, and that didn't last long.

In which part of the world? I've heard and read way more right wingers complaining about the politically correct orthodoxy than accusations of Islamophobia.
Do you have any examples of someone publicly critcizing Islam in a reasonable way (i.e. not being completely stupid or racist), and getting flak for it (as opposed to simple disagreement)?

Point that somewhere else, or I'll reengage the harmonic tachyon modulator. Not specific enough, the Western world is varied as hell.
Around here, I think it's a mixture. Criticising Islam is pretty common, but accusations of Islamophobia aren't that unusual.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI am not sure what the average is in California but seeing as it's a liberal state... Where I live though the opinions vary. I've seen people who very obviously hate Islam and want Muslims to be forced out of the country or forced to convert to another religion that they deem "safer" (this is normally Christianity). Or become atheist. I've also seen people who are very much in support of Muslims and wished that they weren't treated the way they are and that people didn't hate them. Sometimes to the point of being very angry and aggressive about it. Then you have the people who just wish everyone would STFU and stop caring about the whole thing.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThat hearing didn't include Christian extremism now did it? Or Zionism? And the hearing in question was to determine how to "deal" with it. Considering that people only have past precedent to point to, thats extremely close to how Mc Carthyism came into being and THAT is why King would be in any trouble.
