I learned about Tsingtao beer in my college history class. Not discovering the brand itself there, but of its origin. Back when the European countries were colonizing the rest of the world, the Germans colonized the Chinese province of Tsingtao and brought their beer-making ways with them. It's not really Chinese beer, but German beer from China. Fascinating what you can learn when you pay attention.
Patron tequila. Maybe it's the Mexican in me, but I do love the taste. I drink it chilled, with sprite on the rocks and a lime wedge. My Caucasian friends complain that it makes them see things; I just get paranoid!
I don't like beer, since I've got a major Sweet Tooth and if something's carbonated I expect it to be sweet like soda. I prefer malt liquor like Smirnoff Ice or Mike's Hard Lemonade. I also prefer clear liquors over brown or other colored liquors. So tequila and vodka are my usual drinks of choice. I tried gin once; that might be my kryptonite...

With blood and rage of crimson red ripped from a corpse so freshly dead together with our hellish hate we'll burn you all that is your fateMy favourite mixed drink is So Co and L&P. I'm not really sure about the availability of L&P outside New Zealand but if you can get hold of some i suggest you try it. I also recently rediscovered my love for Tequila! (Woo!)
We got some low/no hops beers in a six pack and tried them recently. I could consistently taste some flavor of bitter in all of them. The dark no hops wheat beer had the strongest bitter flavor to me. My wife however enjoyed it.
She said the dark beer had a coffee/dark chocolate flavor. All I could taste was how bitter it was.
Initially we thought it might be the alchohol taste but I do not find Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, or other alcohols of that nature to be bitter. I have the notes posted in one of the drinking threads.
Notes from the Experiment.
My wife and i bout a mix and match batch from hyvee. These are the notes we kept from experience.
Notes from my mix and match 6 pack.
1 Franziskaner Weissbier Naturub Premium Hefe-Weiss Bier Brewed and Bottled Spaten-Brau, Munich, Germany
A unfiltered wheat beer. There was actually dregs in the bottle . Color is cloudy dark amber color. Smells like most other beers. Light kind of bread flavor. Alcohol flavor is kind of strong. Overall it is a decent beer for me.
Wife likes the beer says it was pleasant.
2 Sierra Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen Brewed Bottled by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Chico, CA
Another unfiltered German style beer very similar in color. The smell is a bit different. The alcohol smell is not as strong. A bit bitter and very wheaty in flavor. Otherwise it is kind of smooth. Much better a bit warm a lot less bitter flavor.
Wife did not really like this one.
3 Belgium's Original Steila Artois Premium larger Beer Brewed by Stella Artous Leuven, Belgium
A light colored filtered beer. The smell is almost sweet. It is not cloudy like the other beers. Slightly bitter with a light wheat taste.
Wife says it tastes similar to Budweiser.
4Hoegaarden Wit-Blanche Original Belgian Wheat Beer
Another unfiltered beer similar in color and smell to the first two. The taste was more bitter then the all the others though. Hard to taste the wheat.
5Oatmeal Stout Brewed and Bottled by Crabtree Brewing Company, LTD Greeley, Colorado
Sharp scent, dark beer. Very Very bitter. Strong drink.
Wife liked this one a lot. Said it had a mocha flavor.
6Levity Amberale Odell Brewing, CO
A sharp alcohol smell. Supposedly it uses Honey malts. Lets see how it goes. Color is almost brownish orange. Sharp taste smooth wheaty after taste. Slightly bitter.
Wife says it is kind of icky.

Who watches the watchmen?

I had some cheap brand of wine once.
So, not a lot of choices, really.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....
