[up][up][up] I agree with you. We can really hope that Pile gets an Enhanced Armament which makes him excel in all stats.

Didn't Crow get a serious Deadly Upgrade later on? I mean, from one of the illustration provided in the later novels, the skillset he inherited from the previous Chrome Disasters are pretty broken.

Or is it a Dangerous Forbidden Technique?

I'm fairly certain that Taku's not really going to get a chance to do much, *ever*.

The author should really throw him a bone - A nice Blue Legion girl to play white knight to, or something.

Looking from a meta perspective, it would be unusual for Taku to do anything useful.

[up][up]I'm pretty sure it falls under Superpowered Evil Side.

Binged the entire second half of the anime two nights ago, BTW.

If I wanted to cover it on my blog, I'd have to do it. So I did. tongue

It was surprisingly bearable after I surgically removed scenes I hated from when I read the novels.

Saved the Okinawa episodes for last, though. That was rather stupid episode placement, chronological order or not.

[up][up][up][up] You mean Cobalt Blade and Manganese Blade?

I could at least expect Taku to play the Tank role, though Bell can do it just as fine. We could use a Sword to Maiden's Sorcerer.

[up][up] Agreed on the Okinawa stuff, I thought "oh, we'll be finishing this arc up soon if we have time for a side story," they really should've added that in later to the show.

If it has a plot then I have something to say about it!

[up]The funny thing is that airing those two episodes immediately after episode 20 wouldn't have left such a stupid cliffhanger in the middle of the fight, and would have just plain felt more natural in general. Just running one more episode before it.

It wouldn't have made sense to run it between 21 and 22, between 22 and 23, and definitely not between 23 and 24.

Maybe it was covered in an earlier page and I'm being a noob but have the Avatar Parameters been revealed yet? Blue is for melee combat, Red is long range, Yellow is trickery, and Green is defense but do we know what White, Black, and Purple mean in the grand scheme of things?

I think we went over how vague/messed up the colour wheel is, yeah. Is purple really not defines? I thought it was just white and black that were vague.

@All the people who keep clicking on my blog link: Want me to just tell you when I put the post up on it? Too many other things are currently taking priority on the queue for my post on this series to go up anytime soon.

I think Black might be speed.

And yeah you should.

Black Vise didn't seem particularly fast, though.

[up][up][up] I thought Purple was defined as mid/multi ranged fighters, sitting between long-ranged Red and close-ranged Blue.

What I'm wondering is how a 'pure' Orange fighter would operate.

Orange = Red + Yellow, therefore, Orange = Black Mage. Ardor Maiden is an Orange-colored avatar, and she's a typical Nuker.

Then maybe an Assassin type avatar?

It seems like regular White avatars are the Mages of Accel World (save for Lime Bell and Purple Thorn).

So, yeah, the color wheel is really messed up.

I think magic in AW is more in-line as abilities characters can buy for their avatars. Frankly, we haven't seen Purple Thorn fighting yet so we don't know how magic looks like in AW, so everything we have is speculation. How exactly do you classify magical fire from normal flame manipulation? A normal fire avatar can throw fireballs the same as a "magical" avatar can cast them.

Wizards are probably flavors for avatars (Orchid Oracle), and unless we have a better understanding via examples, we can't say anything else about the matter.

Please note that my usage of the word "mage" or "wizard" is an Insistent Terminology, so Duel Avatars like Orchid Oracle do have a "Wizard" flavor in it, just like maybe Maiden and Thorn.

I was discussing with some people about Lime Bell's potential IS powers, and it dawned upon me that IS has the potential to make Chiyu a true expy of Inoue Orihime.

Please no. I don't think I can stand another character (aside from maybe Yamada) have Orihime's worthless skills.

I thought healing time reversal ability is useful, though. I mean, are healing powers really useless?

Izaak Since: Apr, 2009
#723: Oct 25th 2012 at 5:34:50 AM

Oh, I thought you were talking about her defense. Well, if she can make her power go forward instead that'd be really awesome. Citron Call is also a great denial ability. Sure it heals the enemy, but at the same time it renders their Special Gauge to nil. Do that to Yellow Radio and he won't have any debuffs he can use. Its not that effective against avatars who don't need their specials to do damage though.

If she can cast a speed up that'll make Cyan Pile better (and Silver Crow nigh unhittable). If she can reduce their speed then it'll be the bane of all high-reflex avatars ever.

Needless to say, time manipulation is indeed pretty much a Game-Breaker. Might as well have Chiyu's IS turn her into a full-fledged Time Mage (Return isn't good enough, how about Slow, Haste, and Stop?).

Another interesting point is Sky Raker's ICBM strategy. From what I have heard, Raker uses her Jet Pack to skip the melees and deal damage on the ranged enemies, or simply drop a fully-charged up Ardor Maiden on top of them.

Now, with Silver Crow in tow, how effective would that strategy be in legion battles?

Actually, Chiyu is a Red Baron as well. In the Novels she gains an item that lets her call on monsters, earning her the name "Time Witch". I think we all know the english version of that title once western fans reach that point.
