Yo dawg, I heard you like social networking features catering to your gaming hobby, so I put Steam in Steam so you can tell your friends what you're doing while you tell your friends what you're doing◊.
STEAMCEPTION.
So I've been hanging out on Steamgifts.com, a place where people put up games to give away for free, in random drawings. The people on the forum are very fond of "puzzle giveaways", or just puzzles in general, so I decided to write a gaming-themed puzzle. Here it is: http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/AzoX6/what-i-want-for-christmas-a-puzzle
If you have a Steam account, you can sign in on the site and help out with solving it.
Wait what, why did Steam reject this game? Its fricking awesome! D:<
Ooh, interesting. It's a platformer RPG.
Hmm, $9.99 on Desura. Based on just the trailer, I'd pay $2.50 for it. If I had more info I might pay more...
Wow that is a weird rejection. It looks a lot like your typical fleshed-out Castlevania wannabe and doesn't seem to have any offensive content, so why would they even refuse?
^^ Nice humor, great gameplay, is pretty much a metroidvania even if its not inspired by metroid nor castlevania and plays like D&D campaign.(Okay, it might be early game quirk, but during tutorial you get told by wraith who wants you dead to take gold from big gold pile so you can buy items later. If you do take gold, you die from curse(and have to start whole game again unless you had auto save on) I'm not sure if there are moments like that later on, but I would assume so. Anyway, that moment sold the game for me.) Also, main character isn't just parody protagonist, hes just... A geek. He pretty much acts like what geek would act like, does geeky references and is pretty Genre Savvy most of the time unless you the player choose something not genre savvy
What more do I need to tell you so you would be "sold"? xD Anyway, its totally worth it.
^ Its apparently inspired by Maze of Galious, a game for MSX created in 1985. But yeah, it has nothing really. I mean, yeah, main char is transported to that castle while he is peeing(which you don't see, just his dialog about freaking out about toilet disappearing), he thinks that reason he is in the castle is because his beer was drugged by his friend as joke and you CAN remove his clothes resulting in him being naked, but still None of those are really offensive, I've seen more offensive stuff in actual steam games...

Incidentally, Maze Of Galious is the game that inspired the massive indie metroidvania La Mulana.
I'm not sure what the process for approval on Steam is, but I do know that they require that the in-game Steam overlay works.
^^Depends on how explicit the nudity is, since Valve kinda has to take into account how many people use Steam and thus, what content standards they should strive for.
Granted, the game should still be allowed, but that news was back in February. Then again, Iron Grip: Warlord would have been on Steam sooner if it wasn't for that meddling Metacritic, if I recall correctly, so Unepic will probably get a second chance at Steam as well.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelWhat the heck IS metacritic anyway?
^^Well, you saw game graphics, just imagine main character model as naked :P You would have to be really really really sensitive person to be offended by that.
Well okay, USA is overly sensitive about everything related to nudity and sexuality
Really, if game doesn't get Steam release because of something so small, they might as well say it because it is easy to fix

^^Aggregate scoring site-thing. They take a bunch of "professional" reviews, some user-made reviews and then weigh them all to create a score from 0-100.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific Mackerel@Glenn: So did you try demo?
Considering that I've been on the road for a total of 18 hours between Wednesday and Thursday, and busy communicating with many faculty members, academic leadership persons, and students at three different schools, no.
While Phoronix has claimed several times in the past that Steam is coming to Linux... this time, there's photographic evidence. Penguin hats in TF 2, anyone?
Penguin hat with earbuds. I am the ultimate hipster.
Dang, so he actually got to help with making that a reality?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelGasp. Phantasy Star 4 is on Steam.
I love you forever, Sega
Holy shit, really?
Edit: Oh, just as one of the old Sega games on Steam with a packaged emulator. Unlike the Ys game which is an actual remake.

Great, now we can purchase and download games from anywhere. There goes all my cash.
If only Steam sold localized Idolmaster games...
Funnily enough I own all the games with exception to Bit.Trip Runner before this sale.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.
