Even if I didn’t know already it was a Greenblatt series, I would just by looking at that image.

This is quite unexpected. I didn't know Hanna Barbera doesn't own all their characters, hence a large number of characters being cut in Wacky Races (2017).

That explains I. Q. Ickley replacing Prof. Pat Pending in the reboot.

Most of the ones they couldn't use are no big loss, though. The big group missing was the Ant Hill Mob.

I knew that some of the Wacky Racers were owned by different people; specifically Dick Dastardly and Muttly (which is why they weren't in the Laugh-O-Lympics). I didn't realize the grand majority of Wacky Racers were.

[up] It's even weirder because they made a Cartoon with the Ant Hill Mob (and Penelope Pitstop), though I guess they might have had the ties with the same people that owned the Racers.

The Ant Hill Mob was the big loss, honestly, but I'm surprised they just didn't go for stand-ins like they did in Laff-a-lympics.

Wacky Races was a coproduction with Heatter-Quigley, the game show producers. The original idea for the show was for it to be something like a game show, but by the time it went into production it was essentially what aired. I think they might have had some involvement in Dastardly and Muttley and The Perils of Penelope Pitstop as well.

But due to that there have always kind of been limitations with using the characters. For years they couldn't use Dick Dastardly and Muttley, so they had to use ripoffs - the Dread Baron and Mumbly. By the 80s things had changed and they could use them again, but the legal rights for a lot of the other ones are still tied up.

Here's a UK promo for Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs. It premieres there next February. There's still no US premiere yet. Many of the clips are from that pilot put on the Boomerang streaming service back in 2018 before it was taken down a few days later.

So this obviously takes place before the Pebbles and Bam-Bam show.

"Do you know them? If you don't, ask your parents."

That's both funny and not a great way to advertise a revival to kids.

That was actually pretty good, surprisingly. It made me laugh a few times. Plus the style reminds of the host segments of Kablam. I wasn't sure if I was gonna watch this show when it came out to Boomerang, but now I think I will.

Supposedly, Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs! should have premiered on Boomerang Africa two days ago. Did anyone hear about that or did it get pushed back again?

Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs premieres in the UK today. According to the moderator of the Scoobypedia wiki (who lives in the UK), Wes Gleason is the voice director for the series.

So, according to this Facebook user living in the UK, The Great Gazoo apparently appeared in a recent episode of Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs, and he's voiced by Eric Bauza.

A new Scoob Trailer that shows off the Blue Falcon's design, albeit the audio here is kind of poor. Kind of cringey that they make the Falcon Dab, but I like the more relaxed take on the Falcon they're going with.

Animation looks great in some parts, and in other parts it looks really stiff and weird. I guess that this show is animated in Toon Boom, and the Animators haven't really perfected it for the trailer (hopefully). The humor is on point though.

Speaking of Toon Boom though, am I the only one who's noticed that the Boomerang app/site hasn't really updated since January?

Words do not describe how hyped I am for Looney Tunes Cartoons. Eric Bauza in particular has already endeared me as Bugs and Daffy. His "I AM AMUSED!" line is soooo Mel Blanc.

[up]Yeah you rarely ever heard any version of Bugs raise his voice to such excitement besides the original (in fairness even Blanc wasn't really directed to outside the 40s shorts usually).

The animation is kinda inconsistent, some points look suspiciously Flash-like, others look almost the level of the original shorts. Hopefully things will balance as they go on, but I can understand them wanting to focus on particular scenes if they're aiming for theatrical level animation at times.

And Marvin the Martian in Clampett style. Never thought I'd see that.
