Drew watched the scene unfold and get progressively worse, unsure of what to do. Then he heard a voice behind him. Turning, he saw it was a woman with blonde hair and no clue as to what was really happening. Making a split second decision, Drew decided to get her out of the crossfire.

Sophie would feel an oddly cool presence make contact with her shoulder before Drew spoke. "Get back, please, before it gets worse." Looking over, he also saw that the one from the firing range was beginning to get caught in it as well, so he began to make his way over to her and give her the same warning, before slipping away himself.

"... I can take care of myself, thank you very much," Sophie replied, somewhat indignantly.

His touch was oddly cold... Much colder than a normal human. It was very possible he had powers as well.

Percy stopped as he saw a woman holding onto a man’s wrist with an apparent iron grip. The two apparently had an issue with each other as neither was entirely happy at what was going on. As he got closer, he heard the man exclaim, “I was trying to... well, not kill him.” He went on to detail some rather childish scheme to acquire an “archnemesis”, but as he once again turned to walk away something caught his eye. The man appeared to be emanating tendrils of cold onto the ground around himself.

“This are now interesting,” Percy muttered to himself.

"He also would've been dead. So you decide to make an attempt on someone's life, for the sole purpose of making an enemy?" Doll's gaze looked right through Anders' eyes. "Even if you are a villain, killing someone for a reason so casual is idiotic."

...?!

Doll felt a change in warmth (or rather, the lack of it) along Anders' wrist. Letting go, she took some steps back. James, noticing the frost creep along the ground surrounding the new supervillain, reaching into his jacket for his pistol.

"What are you trying to pull this time?" Doll asked.

As Kiribattaman attempted to knee Cassandra in the crotch (as in their current position, a full out kick would be impossible), the cosplaying millionaire, knife still in hand, attempted to stab into his thigh, the force with which he was trying to strike with his leg making the knife more likely to embed itself.

Ial looked back at Scan. "A mayor who runs a city that worries daily over the latest schemes of the next supervillain should have - no, needs to have a strong range of resources. Though of course, for my safety, the safety of my sources, and indeed for the safety of this town, some of those resources I must have remain confidential. I'm sure you understand."

The mayor then gazed out to the bustling events of the city. "I wonder when or if our other heroic speaker will appear," he pondered out loud.

AWESOME! Aria mentally shouted in her mind. Just then, her cellphone rang out its text tone. Flipping it open, she read Jeff's message before texting him back.

Oh, we're still at the test-your-strength thing. Where do you WANT to meet up?

My god, it worked. Anders stopped drawing energy into himself, and the frost began to melt - slowly, though. It was still autumn, after all. "I really just wanted you to let me go," he said, smiling in a way that felt devilish. "And now that you have..." he paused for dramatic effect, then spun on his heel and took off.

Black Rose sized up Scan. "Right. You've got no actual powers either. Still, it's better than having, like, Doll be up there speaking, and I can't say much for some of our other, more... Frosty guests." Black Rose suddenly stiffened, sobering up. "He's here. I don't know where, but the creature is here."

A chill wind, as if from the dead of a winter night, blew past Black Rose and company; an expression of pure terror filled his face. "You feel that? It's watching us, intangibly."

Ial's eyes narrowed and took a look around. A meaningless gesture, as it wasn't really his vision he relied on to see rather than his powers, but regardless it was done. Throwing a concerned glance over at Mr. Lang for a moment, he closed his eyes for a brief moment before donning an unworried face.

"Well, whatever it is you're concerned about, there's no need to worry," Ial lied. "Security is set to increase around this area starting from when I begin to when the speeches end, so should trouble arise the nearby police officers can intercept and resolve the issue, or at least mitigate it until the nearest super arrives."

Slipping her phone into her pocket, she took a look at her idol. "Captain Zeppelin, sir, um, this may sound rather... unextravagant, but would you follow me to the parking lot? Jeff's waiting there for us."

While Anders did his little twirl, Doll reached out and grabbed the man's wrist before he could take off. "I'm not done with you yet."

She threw a glance over to the detective, who nodded and took some steps back. Not having any superpowers really puts me at a disadvantage, he thought to himself.

Anders felt his heart leap into his throat when Doll grabbed him — again. Can't she just let me go? He tried to turn to face her, nearly bent his arm behind his back, and thought better of it. "If you just want to talk, fine," he said cautiously, drawing more energy into himself. He was hovering close to ninety-five degrees, which was a good safety measure, though it made him feel a little unfocused. "But I haven't done anything wrong, so if you're just going to attack me, I'll fight back." Now that the declaration had been made, Anders actually felt a little more at ease. He could handle talking it out... and he could just turn things over to Cot at the first sign of hostilities.

As he was walking away from the chaos, Drew gave a cautious glance back. It didn't feel right to just leave, but what could he do? Not much, as he weighed the options present. Or rather, what little options he actually had. It was sad really, that an opportunity slipped by him like that. His hand funbled for his ring, until he realized he wasn't wearing it after a few seconds. His hand then tried to fond a pocket to slip into and stay, until he realized the costume he was wearing didn't have pockets. Looking around, he felt like shrinking until he wasn't visible to anyone here, so he could slip away. Not having his ring or a way to keep to himself made him feel almost naked. And now that Lucas was nowhere to be found, he wasn't sure what to do. He was truly alone, in a mass of people. One bump would freak anyone out here, if the thin fabric of his costume was any indication. The woman earlier probably felt like that too, at least partially.

What am i going to do now... Drew asked himself as he looked around. A small part of him was beginning to panic, but he remained calm still. There wasn't a need to get upset just because he was alone. Finally, he spotted a pamphlet and, upon further inspection, saw that it was for the heroes and villain that would be giving speeches later today. With no other options currently and no idea what he could accomplish if he left the festival, Drew began heading that way, a small bit curious as to what he would do when there.

After finishing making reservations for himself, Sophie and Justin, Benjamin made his way outside, taking a cigarette, lighting it and clasping onto it gently, almost lovingly, between his fingers, catering to his addiction as he began to head towards the bus. Looking over to the crowd far ahead of them, Benjamin withdrew his cellphone, worriedly checking for any messages from Sophie before shaking his head and continuing on. She wasn't in any trouble right now, and even if she was she could take care of herself. At least, that's what Benjamin had to tell himself.

He was being much too protective of her, he knew, but he couldn't help it. It was so hard not to, being her father. He should just hearn to trust her, to put faith in her, but Benjamin had a hard time doing that. It wasn't because of anything she did, he just... couldn't grasp the concept, apparently. She was his daughter, but she had been with him, going from place to place what had to have been her whole life. Justin had been just what they needed to make sure she got what knowledge she needed to surive in the world, but just how ready was she? I wish i knew, Benjamin thought solemnly as he approached Justin, I wish i did.

"So," Benjamin began, trying to bring himself out of his thoughts, "how goes the combating of the 'Squeaky-Wheel-Gremlins, Justin?"

Before he could even take a single step, the unidentified woman had already grabbed the Super a second time. "Brave...And quick," he muttered to himself. Percival removed his hand from inside his jacket and let it sit on the top of his dagger's handle.

Wait, why is the guy with the gun backing away from the Super and the random girl who's got a vicegrip on his arm? Is she one too?

'Diana had been so engrossed in aiming her shot that she hadn't noticed the disturbance going on around her, even when Cassandra and the bugman smashed their way through the stall. You'd think she'd notice such a thing, but no, the shot was all that mattered to her. She was so completely drawn into aiming the perfect shot that she only actually took heed of what was going on when the two got in the way of her aim, and two others gathered around them. Quickly realising what was going on, she knew exactly what to do in this situation. Slowly, she lowered her gun...'

"Uh, guys? You're, uh, kind of in my shot. Could you, uh, move? Please?"

The rich bachelorette sighed inwardly at the gunwoman's long held reply. Oh, Diana...

Back to the matter at hand, Cassandra proceeded to shove Kiribattaman off her person before getting up herself, extracting her knife from his leg as she did so. Her unarmed hand reached into the purse still wrapped over her shoulder and pulled out a pistol.

"Here's a tip for you, aspiring thief: women tend to keep things in the handbags, not their pockets."

"Attempted murder." Despite the rising temperature in Anders' body and the growing frost surrounding him, Doll did not her voice falter or her grip waver. "Or do you think that because you failed, it wasn't a mistake?"

James meanwhile continued to back off. While the stranger's powers related to cold, he didn't know the full extent of it and it was better safe to be some distance away than sorry by getting hit by an unforeseen attack. Be careful, Doll.

The detective took a look around for possible places to take cover should the tension snap and as he surveyed the scene, he noticed someone watching Doll, the stranger, and in all likelihood himself. He only gave the person a moment's glance before looking away. Why is he watching?

"Follow me, Captain Zeppelin sir." Aria proceeded to lead the elder supervillain to the parking lot, presuming that Jeff parked at or near where they parked before.

The mayor took a look at his cellphone. "Just a few more minutes... I suppose we can't trust Clinton to arrive in time before the speeches."

"It wasn't a mistake," Anders shot back. "I know exactly what I was doing - and like I said, I was doing him a favor. I know well enough that beginners should stay out of the big leagues." He swallowed hard and blinked to focus his vision. 100 degrees. "And I'll admit I don't know thing one about you, so I might be breaking my own rule. It's freaking me out, really." 102. He knew he was babbling, but there wasn't all that much he could do about it. "She told me not to bother her, but what does she know? Maybe she'll be able to get away, and if not-" 103 degrees.

Anders trailed off, closing his eyes in the middle of his sentence. His wrist, which had been corded with stress, relaxed in Doll's grip, and he began to fall forward. Just as he reached the tipping point, though, his foot shot out to catch himself, and he started back up.

"Hey, what did I tell you?" he asked, frowning. His voice sounded strange - higher than it had been. As Doll watched, he straightened back up - but minor things had changed. His stance was different, and he hunched forward a bit. His wrist, as well as the shape of the rest of his forearm, was thicker with muscle than it had been. "It can't have been more than an hour..." he paused as he seemed to see Doll for the first time. After a moment, a knowing smile crept onto his face.

"Well now! I take it back. He's done well so far already!" This news seemed to please him, and he grinned widely at Doll. "I suppose I owe you an introduction, right? I'm Cot," he - no, she - said. "Nice to meet you! You must be Anders' new girlfriend, I take it. He deserves some stress relief, if you know what I mean, so don't hold back for too long, eh?" She patted Doll companionably on the hand that was holding her wrist. "Or maybe I'm reading things wrong and that well-appointed gentleman over there is already involved with you? In which case Anders gets no points for going after the hard target, but rather deserves to be slapped or whatever you were going to do to him, particularly if he tried to cop a feel or something." She stopped talking for a moment - it was already easy to tell that this would be a rare occurrence - and her eyes narrowed. "Of course, if you were threatening him..."

Oh great, a Super with a split personality!

Much like us, I assume.

No, not like us at all. We are both Percival, we share the same body, we feel the same things, we have the same goals.

You are wrong. You may be the original and control our body, but I have become Reason incarnate. Neither of us is perfect, but if I am reason what does that make you— Spirit, Appetite, or both? We want a Utopia? I would rule; I would be King...a Philosopher-King.

You're in over your head, I could kill you. I could make a new copy.

You don't have the guts. You need me. And I think the fellow with the pistol has noticed us...

Percival looked away from the scene, whistling, and casually sat down in a nearby bench facing away from the apparent scuffle. It just so happened a row of carnival mirrors were right across from him giving him an excellent, albeit distorted, line of sight of the three people.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Unfortunately for Percival, a certain man disappeared from said line of sight...

"I can see why you picked this spot," the detective said, casually planting himself on the bench, sitting right next to the eavesdropper. "Earshot of my friend and that person over there, and some reflective surfaces to keep your eye on things. Though it's too bad you didn't just come and ask me what's going on.

"Granted, they're making a scene in public, but it's still a little suspicious to be watching when you're not involved," James added. "And a little more suspicious of you to pretend not to when it's obvious to me you are; I caught your eyes looking towards us and your person hasn't exactly been moving about up until now. Also, whistling. The innocent whistle is a dead giveaway."

Behind the two of them, Doll's scowl broke for a moment in confusion. A different personality? ...no, his body's subtly different as well... a woman?

Listening to the torrent of words Cot proceeded to wash over her with, Doll waited for a break from the... girl's... monologue before replying. "I wasn't threatening him," was her answer, which was technically true. "I was just trying to do Anders a favor."

And now I have his name.

Trying to act casual, Doll continued from Cot's other lines of thought. "The two of us only just met, and I'm not that kind of woman anyway. And the man you were referring to before..." Doll broke eye contact for just a brief moment before reestablishing. "We're not involved, though he is a close friend of mine."

Her body is different than Anders'... his was cold to the touch. This woman, though... she's emanating warmth.

Doll loosened her grip on Cauterize's wrist. I don't know what to expect from her, but if I play my cards right, I might be able to learn more about her other half.

"Very astute of you. However, while you may have correctly deduced that I was watching, I am still an unknown quantity. For all you know, I could have just succeeded in separating you from your friend as part of some local supervillain's dastardly plot. But I digress, we can continue sitting and talking as you have suggested. I suppose we could even play a game of 20 questions if that would make you more comfortable."

And I know the local villains well enough to know you're bluffing.

"Actually, if it's okay with you, I'd rather just sit quietly until Doll's done handling things. I mean, I would like to know why you're eavesdropping, but it's not like I can expect a straight answer," James confessed. "Just don't pull a weapon out on me, and I won't pull mine out on you. Deal?"
