No I feel yoshi's is the closest spinoff to being within the mario franchise. Major mario enemies are plentiful, mario himself is in it as a major gameplay mechanic. I'd consider it a mainline... but I'd also consider it part of the yoshi series.

Koopas, Goombas, and Lakitu are the only ones there.
Chain Chomp can't be considered major since it was only in one other game at that point.
Same for Shy-Guy.

Piranhas plants, boos, bullet bills, cheep cheeps... Not to mention yoshi characters feature prominently in future Mario universe titles far moreso than Donkey Kong enemies and Wario enemies. I just think you're wrong.

Yes.
I'm not sure what the 2nd part has to do with what I said though, Yoshi characters?

I mean gameplay-wise. When put next to the other 2D Mario games, it has Mario elements and has stuck closer to its roots than other spin-offs originating from the Mario series, but not enough that I would bunch it in with other 2D entries of its era like SMW, SML 1/2, etc. It's a Yoshi game first and foremost imo.
I realized my statement might require some editing since yoshi exclusive enemies don't feature that often, but yoshi characters do, and I won't dispute gameplay differences, but thinking about it 3d collectathons are different from typical 2d mario but they're considered mainline anyway. There was a whole youtube video about it, which I've posted before. Google how many mainline mario games are there, it should be in the first few results.

Yes it’d be unlikely but let’s be honest, having deep cuts wouldn’t alienate casual audiences. They’d just see it as a new face to play as. Plus I doubt there’d be a stink over Mona and Fawful getting in over Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach.
Also a Nintendo Kart wouldn’t have Waluigi would it?
Other than that there’s not much to say on this topic but it would be funny if we got a Nintendo Kart… and it was a mobile spin-off

Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The Game
Not lazy so much as clueless. No one asked for Baby Daisy or Pink Gold Peach. And Cat Mario could easily have been a palette like how Yoshi does it.
Would be cool to have Kooper and Koops be skins for Koopa while Lakilester is a skin for Lakitu
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameI'd rather play as an enemy than just wait for there to be a "King Mook" version...
Like Goomba, Goombrat, Galoomba, etc.

Nintendo stuck to their guns and are all the better for it, no matter how shortsighted it is.

I think the 2016 Olympics games only had some of the Koopslings playable, though none of them are treated as main playable characters.
I've posted in the VG accomplishments thread already, but 24 hours ago I finished Super Mario Land 2!
And wow, the last level is surprisingly difficult. And the lack of checkpoints made me feel really tempted to use the rewind feature, but ultimately I prevailed without needing to do that.
The credits theme, for some reason, almost made me cry. Especially when The End was shown with both Mario and Wario being shown to thank me for playing the game.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311Recently been addicted to Mario Party and Mario Party 2. On the note of the former... a-are the control stick minigames meant to be beaten by mortal hands? Like, even against the easy CPUs, I can't beat Tug-o-War. I think I broke my Pro Controller trying, cause it's drifting now, and like hell am I even going to attempt doing those minigames with my Joy-Cons.
I know there was some minigame in the N64 games where the CPU mashed faster than the N64 was capable of registering or something crazy like that, but I don't remember the specifics.
Your melody still remains in this room and it rings

It doesn't include enemies exclusive to any game besides 3D World for the obvious reason.
