Seeing 3D World fare well makes me smile.

And I may be mistaken, so please correct me gently if that's the case, but Odyssey is the best-selling 3D platformer of all time. Not just from Mario, but in general.

The huge success of Luigi's Mansion 3, Super Mario Maker 2 and 3D All-Stars is also commendable.

Odyssey has held that title for years.

On Nintendo's earnings report under Director Change: the CEO of Illumination Entertainment Chris Meledandri has been nominated into becoming an Outside Director for Nintendo.

If they are bringing in Illumination's CEO, then they have heavyconfidence in the Mario movie.

The new Mario movie probably won't be a masterpiece, but it takes little to surpass the 1986 and 1993 movies. As long as it's fun to watch and enjoyable, I'll be satisfied.

I really hope there's a Mario Maker 3 sometime in the future, maybe on Nintendo's next console. I really love Mario Maker 2 and still play it regularly. I really hope Game Maker Garage doesn't mean Nintendo is done with Mario Maker.

As for the movie, internet scuttlebutt says it's based on the Mario World manga. If true, that's very good news indeed.

You mean Super Mario Adventures?

Yep, that's the one! The one where Bowser kidnaps Peach because he needs a nanny for the unmanageable Koopalings (still the best take on Bowser's motives, imho) and the climax takes place on a giant cake.

And the one where Peach escapes the Koopalings' castle with a cape feather and some martial arts, threatens to rip up Wendy's dress to hold her off, and when Mario's captured in her place, she disguises herself as Luigi and threatens to blow the place sky-high with a cart of Bob-Ombs. (When she's recaptured towards the end, Bowser has to hypnotize her to keep her compliant cause she wouldn't stop messing up the wedding hall.)

A new Waluigi render was shown in Nintendo Minute. I don't know how to feel about it

I have no idea how Waluigi's body works. Is it even possible to replicate that pose in real life?

I'd be pumped for a Mario Maker 3, but it's probably too soon (but then again, many of us thought it was also too soon for a Splatoon 3, yet it's already confirmed to be in development). And I wouldn't say GBG will replace it, as its appeal is in replicating any kind of game. My hopes are in that it can allow you to create a top-down puzzle game because I'm so much in need of trying to do something like that.

Of course, for a Mario Maker 3, it would be cool if you not only create Mario platform levels, but also have a Mario Kart game style to create racetracks.

As for the Waluigi render, I don't think that's indicative of anything. But I don't want to ruin fans' fun.

Personally I wish they'd just kept updating Mario Maker 2. Feels like there's still a ton of missed potential.

Yeah, like an extra game style, for starters. I would've liked a Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins style.

Wario would be fun to use!

The obvious extra game style is Super Mario Bros. 2/USA. The SMB2 mushroom is a cool addition, but you can never quite build a level around it, since the player can always get hit and turn back into regular Mario. It and the Master Sword should just permanently change you, even if you take damage.

I think we have to admit that with the reveal of that render, is that Waluigi FUCKS!

clearly this means that a Waluigi-centered Dating Sim will be announced at any time

If Colonel Sanders and JonTron can get dating sims, why not Waluigi?

Alright, Chargen' Chuck! It's about time we get the Sports Mook in a Sports game.

It's kinda odd that they've added guys like King Bob-omb or Chargin' Chuck (!!!) yet left out relative mainstays like Diddy Kong or Birdo. It's not like their absence is a make-or-break thing for me, but I'm sure they were someone's favorites.

Still got DLC, I guess.

Funnily enough, golf is one of the few sports Chargin' Chuck hasn't been seen playing before.

I don't think we've seen Chargin' Chuck play anything beyond... well, American football. This is the first time he's playable at all as far as I know. Kinda weird for such a heavily American football-themed mook to make its first playable appearance in a golf game, but this is Mario we're talking about.

Chucks would throw baseballs at you in certain levels of Mario World.
