Just a random thought I had, but Nintendo seems to gradually re-introducing voice acting to the Mario franchise after that experiment failed way back in Super Mario Sunshine. First there was WarioWare Gold having voiced dialogue, and then the Talking Flowers in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and after that they took it up a notch with Pauline in Donkey Kong Bananza. Based on that, I'm wondering if Nintendo's planning to have full-on voice acting for almost everybody (except Mario himself) in the next major Mario game.
i still heavily believe they should've kept Sunshine's voice acting for future entries, purely because it was so funny it looped back into being good
Took it up a notch...
And Wario Ware Gold still has multiple voiced characters in every language, not just 1 character while everyone else speaks gibberish.

I personally consider Bananza a bigger step in terms of voice acting than Gold, since it's a far more mainstream release (and developed by the 3D Mario team to boot), while WarioWare still remains somewhat niche and isolated from the rest of the Mario franchise.
I mean, if there's a franchise that paved the way, it was Zelda thanks to Breath of the Wild. And that was arguably the series that most resisted implementing voice acting (at least Mario dared to try with Sunshine). Princess Zelda's polarizing voice notwithstanding, the voice cast as a whole was very well-received, which motivated Nintendo to make steps with Mario (it had Pauline singing with actual lyrics in Odyssey).
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311Smash Bros. vocal theme probably had more to do with that.
Warioware games having vocal themes didn't even lead the charge.

Yes, it is a senseless chart. And yes, the webstie tried to bury it.

As mentioned in the Recent Acomplishments thread, I got all gold cups in Knockout Tour, including three stars in each.
Man, that was some serious challenge, especially due to how fast the CPU drives and how proficient they are with tricks and shortcuts. But it was worth it. I actually managed to clear the last Rally (Heart) on the first try, though I had a close call in the last segment (Peach Stadium).
I have begun exploring the world freely to look for the P challenges and ? panels. I suppose all that's left for me to do is unlock Mirror Mode.

135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311Oh, yeah so about that... In this game, if you get 3 Stars on 1500cc, the game gives you 3 stars for 50 and 100 cc as well. This also applies to Mirror Mode. If you get 3 stars in that, you would get credit for all three other difficulty levels. If you do it right, you can use this to save some time, but if you haven't unlocked it yet...

Welcome, my little friend! Or should I say...friends?That is explicitly how it worked in 8Deluxe...
Changing it to also applying to "......" is kind of dumb, since the challenge is different...and also the unlock method.

yeah i was mostly wondering about Mirror since i was pretty sure that wasn't how it worked in 8DX
i've been replaying Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Super Sluggers recently, and... and oh my god, Super Sluggers is SO much better than Superstar Baseball, holy SHIT
like
i know Sluggers has the whole motion controls shtick, but you can TURN THAT OFF!!! and once you turn it off, not only is it better in both graphics and gameplay, it's also better in accessibility and clarity: there's a cursor in Sluggers that allows you to see the basic hitbox of your bat, and holy JEEZ it's so much easier
and you can turn THAT off too!!!!! if you want a challenge!!!!!!!
the game also clearly explains the Scout missions, and also doesn't make the Scout missions pointless by just letting you use the Mercy rule to recruit everyone!!!
Sluggers might be the best baseball game of all time, no contest—
Welcome, my little friend! Or should I say...friends?I should really play Sluggers sometime. The only baseball game I remember playing was Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball with my dad, and since I was a little kid he'd always deliberately fumble the ball, jump up and down and dive when the ball was right there, and let me win.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I see it making a bit of a comeback nowadays, but mostly in the sense that certain popular Mario YouTubers are fans and are actively trying to bring it back themselves.
Speaking of MK World, I have been roaming feely in search for P Switches and panels. I went through Moo Moo Meadows, Peach Stadium (missing one panel, alas), Dino Dino Jungle and currently now Great ? Block Ruins. It's been a bit annoying to reach certain places due to how easy it is to fall to the abyss, but for the most part it's actually very fun to explore this track. Reminds me a lot of the Golden Temple from Returns.
EDIT: Also went through Koopa Troopa Beach, including the SNES Koopa Beach tribute area!
