Huh, it's apparently part of a collection.

"Mein Kampf" is the latest publication in a collection of historical comic books called "Manga de Dokuha" ("Learn with manga") edited by the publishing firm East Press. The collection already includes manga versions of Karl Marx’s "Capital" and Tolstoy’s "War and Peace".

The idea that this exists is just mind-boggling.

What is this I don't even...

Seriously, I don't know what to think of this.

On the one hand I'm thinking that they should have adapted mein kampfy chair instead and wondering when Hitler will rant on this...

And on the other hand, I can't possibly imagine the liberties that manga will take with history... That is I can, but can't believe this. Plus reading this puts me in mind of educational material from the seventies.

I have to agree (and can't possibly believe i do it with the bavarian government...well Enemy Mine) about Manga beeing not the right medium, at least in Germany.

There is still too much of the "comics are for kids" thing going on and I can guarantee as soon as they would get in in germany some neo-nazi groups would give out free copies in schoolyards, especially elementary schools (especially in the old GDR parts) :/

It's just a guess, but I think the actual original Mein Kampf will be taken into consideration only where it doesn't conflict with official history... I mean, it would be crazy if this manga had something bad to say about the Jews.

Oh wow.

I love this page. Hitler looks like a shounen hero here, haha.

Welp, read it all. Well, the one chapter there is right now.

... Huh!

It's not terribly well-written, but it also doesn't seem, like, terrible so far. Seeing Hitler as a child, in a manga style, was... pretty surreal.

Saw this, and decided to give it a look see. Surprised to see a thread her though.

Wasn't quite what I thought. It's not bad, though.

...knowing Japan, they could probably pull that off.

As pointed out by, like, the second post in this thread, it was made by the very same people.

Though I'm not entirely sure why people would compare the two. One is a political treatise, the other is the diary of an insane man.

One is a political treatise, the other is the diary of an insane man.

But hey, at least the diary is no different from the treatise, in the basis that they both drove whole countries insane.

The diary itself wasn't much of a best-seller. From what I recall the gave them out at weddings to spread them out.

I never finished it but from what I read (and taken as a work of literature rather that the mad rants of a mad man) it had a hard time focusing. History history JEWS history history RUSSIA history history JEWS...

So far, it seems to be mostly fluff. Let's hope it stays at at least historically correct. But all in all, the book is completely meaningless, the incoherent babbling of a man who thought he was much better educated than it was actually the case. On the actual history of the Third Reich and the Holocaust, it had little influence, so i don't really the the point of this.

And if I want to see it ridiculed, I stay with Serdar Somuncu, thank you very much.

At first I thought I was in the literature subforum. But then I realized I wasn't...

...maybe it will be more interesting than the book? Mein Kampf was boring as fuck.

I heard about this a while ago. That somebody actually wastes their time to scanlate this garbage...

Not that I'm really surprised, of course.
