Young justice be over-powered? They have superman's 'son', Aqua Lad who has frickin MAGIC, a PYSCIC, and, effectivly, Mini-Batman.
I don;t think static would work well on a permenant team though. He's good with a partner, but allot of what he does could get in the other's way.
I'm baaaaaaackI used to get the same feeling about Batman before I learned about the Justice League.
Static in the DCAU joined the Justice League in the future, so I think it wouldn't be so far-fetched to have him in a young team.
I love this show post-Grown the beard. I liked that eventually his family figure his identity out and we need not worry about Clark Kenting anymore.

Also, I think its stupid (in universe) for super hero teams to try and worry about power balances or limit themselves unless the situation called for finesses and people was in danger. My thing is they would want to reach out and establish good relations with every other hero just to be prepared. You never know when you might face a villain with a specific weaksauce weakness you would never expect.
Then again its either to just use plot stupidity instead of coming up with creative plots and uses for powers. Should we trick our enemy into freezing himself or how about forcing them to burn through their energy? No...that's silly. Just hit them harder. Sarcasm Mode.

I assume the fact that it didn't work gave him quite a shock.
