something that has always struck me as a WTF, almost everyone i talk to said this show was a epic Fail but it ran for /4/ freaking seasons and was even incoperated intothe Dc Animated universe, what's up with that?

or as Vergil would say "what up wit dat. Use Slang correctly or don't use it at all."

Who the hell are you talking to? Everyone I know loved it or at least thought it was good. You need new friends.

Yes, unlike some of the other shows, it managed to last. Being on the one network not willing to throw Saturday Morning to the dogs also helped.

Is this a complain thread? It looks like a complain thread.

Granted, I've seen many threats intended to complain turn into legitimate threads about what they're complaining about, so feel free to carry on.

Anyways:

Is the Static comic still running, or has he been delegated to side character status in the DCU?

He's getting a new ongoing series after the DCU reboot, set in New York instead of Dakota though.

He has a member of the Teen Titans for awhile.

I loved this show. I particularly remember an episode about a young homeless girl with ice powers and obviously unstable that had to be one of the most touching things I'd ever seen.

^ I remember that one: it was writing in episodes like that that made the show so good.

I kind of wish Static had more involvement in Justice League, beyond that future episode. Actually, I kind of wish a lot of other teen heroes had a bit more involvement in Unlimited.

He did have that one JL crossover where he fought Brainiac, I always found it funny how it was Batman that got him involved.

Then there was the crossover with Batman Beyond, and the future Unlimited episode like you said, and there was guest appearance by Superman, and another with Green Lantern.

I meant appearances in Justice League rather than the other way around.

@OP: Umm...Static was in the DC Universe back when it premiered in 1993.

Granted, it wasn't in the animated universe, but it was still in a DC universe.

I think your friends might have something. There was definitely some fail in that series, but gosh damn, some of it got a bit much.

^^ Actually, Static was originally in the Milestone Universe, and wasn't integrated into DC until much later.

Indeed, even in the animated series, there's a reference to the identity of Superman being Clark Kent.

Milestone was on its own for a while, then they merged it, then Milestone kinda went out of publication for a bit.

I thought Static Shock was alright at first, but I stopped liking it when they started throwing in guest stars every other episode and started putting Anvilicious Aesops in the show.

I'll admit it; a large portion of my affection for this show has to do with Richie.

And then I found the Internet and learned found out that even if he were real, it wouldn't be happening. Even with fictional men, this always happens to me!

Ah yes Richie, Gay and has a racist Father, but damn if he wasn't cool!

I think my favoirepart was when they played up the If It's You, It's Okay Trope for Richie's dad toward the Hawkins "back people suck, except you Vergil, you and your dad are cool"

I started watching this show around the second half of the second season, I think. All I know is that I am glad because when I watched the earlier episodes it was clear it was before a much needed Growth of the beard. There is a point in this show in which it becomes so much better than the first episodes. The animation is clearly better, Richie becomes techno and Static begins to actually belong to the DCAU rather than just look like a show about fighting with bullies. The villains also get a lot more interesting.

I really liked this show, I just liked the more recent episodes a lot more than the first ones.

[up] I started noticing more superhero-ish stuff when Virgil traded in the T-shirt-with-symbol-stenciled-on look. Of course, that was also when we got "Static Shaq".

The guest stars didn't bother me as much as some people.

I liked it. Though my favorite thing about it was only indirect. Some kid in school told me when he was around 10, he wanted Static's powers. So he smashed his head into one of those glass lighting-balls. It didn't work.
