The problem with pictures of arcade cabinets is that they are often similar to each other. IIRC Cave's cabinets are of the standard type, only painted with game-related artwork. PS 2 boxart is the picture of the earliest home console conversion of this game and the most recognizable one + it shows Reco and Kiniro.
On the other hand, I liked multiple pics
"Take your (...) hippy dream world, I'll take reality and earning my happiness with my own efforts" - BarkeyWell, since I was the one who started and then closed that thread, and was subsequently PM'd the entirety of the OP, I'll address your points here instead of a reply.
- You're right, I know nothing about the games beyond what's on the trope page. That's immaterial to discussing issues with the page pic(s).
- That's a problem with the linking system; it doesn't like punctuated titles for some reason.
- That's a consequence of other threads generating a lot more interest.
- I believe you're right about there not being a set rule about multiple images on a page, however I'd be hard-pressed to tell you more than one other page (Evil Is Visceral) that uses multiple images that are spread into the examples, and there's an IP thread about that page that actually still needs to be resolved. It's ugly and unnecessary, and I'll definitely be bringing it up as a entry to the Image Pickin' Guidelines thread. As Deboss said in the original page, multiple pics are fine on character pages.
- I did an extensive GIS for pics about the game before deciding on that image, and that was the only piece of art that came up that I recognized as an actual game cover. Everything else was screenshots, original art, or official art, and I didn't see a pic of an arcade cabinet.
In short, if the mods had had a problem with how the other thread had been handled, I'm sure they would've said something when I asked to lock the thread.

Can't we just add this to the guidelines already? You never need more than one image, especially not for works, and even if you do, that's what Image Links if for.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.

I object to the way this image-picking discussion for Mushihime-sama was conducted. My reasons for this objection are as follows:
