Wasn't most Gamecube games' use of the trigger buttons sensitivity just "all the way" or "part of the way"? Because this has two pairs of triggers.
Stock fluctuations like this happen whenever anyone does anything. It might be notable, but it's not directly related to this.
@Enlong: Yes, they said you can use the same Wii remotes and accessories you already have with the Wii U.
I kind of figured you'd only use one of those pad controllers at a time given that's all we saw in the presentation. I don't play multiplayer games a lot, so I don't consider it a big loss, though it would certainly be annoying if they didn't even sell replacement controllers.
Late on this, but I'm assuming the touch screen works like the DS and 3DS in that it only acknowledges one point of contact.

...what does that mean?
Regarding stocks, didn't Nintendo's stock drop when the Wii was first announced as well?
The comments in The Escapist's forum comments are kinda amusing btw.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Wah, Miyamoto was the only person who bothered to entertain the audience during the E3!...he was the guy during the showcasing of Zelda right?
...granted I am pretty pissed that I played through Twilight Princess and dying only once...the new direction of the Zelda games have not been very inspiring in that regards. Still gotta give it to Miyamoto for making E3 entertaining though.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Nintendo's consoles are never optimism generators except for the Nintendo 64. The NES, Super NES, Game Cube and Wii all opened to scorn from gamers.
The 64 was as much of a dud as the Game Cube, people just don't remember because the 64 had the Sega CD and Sega Saturn to beat up on.
Point being, Nintendo has been successful despite the pessimist before, but they've proven more than capable of failing and don't really deserve the benefit of the doubt. I just don't see why the U can't be compatible with Wii's version of cube controllers and not the original. Half of my original game cube controllers didn't work for the Wii despite working fine for the Cube.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackJust going to make the point (again) that N64 controllers didn't work with the Game Cube and that worked out fine.
I mean hell lets not talk about it having the graphically capability to plow the 360 and PS 3 out of the water, or the massive innovation the Wii U controller brings to the table.

Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comI think one reason people are hung up on it is the assumption that the Wii U wouldn't have much problem running Game Cube games because the Wii was so similar. Which might be wrong, but, if that is the case, I would have liked Nintendo to sell an adapter.
DumboYeah, we would think that the emulation would be trivial seeing as the Wii and Gamecube hardware are so similar, so it's most likely a conspiracy to try and sell us those games through VC — or they just want to re-release some more GC games. Either way, Nintendo is out to get us. They are mean people who are not above doing sneaky things to get our money.
And my Game Cube IS destroyed, I'll have you know!
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEHey all. Nintendo Third Party Roundtable live blog

Don't Stop Me Now...

No, I mean.
Have wee seen enough of the box to know if there are no GCN ports?
I mean, the Wii has them tucked into a side-panel that's flush with the rest of the box until you open it.
I have a message from another time...
