Oh. Well then.
Still, the Direct had stuff that I expected to see at any given E3 and the Directs in general do make having an E3 keynote a bit pointless unless they had a few major game announcements that corresponded with it or they were announcing new hardware.
Although I will admit that it would have been nice if they had shown us at least one new game that we didn't expect that wasn't Donkey Kong.

Oh, I'm not saying there is. I like Donkey Kong, but it's just not one of my favorite franchises.
So everyone got something different out of this, basically.

, Iwata weighs in on the used game debate.
Nintendo's way of ensuring they don't lose sales to the secondhand market? Make games that people don't want to sell in the first place.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Old news, but that IS the best way to solve it. I also think that they're succeeding because I can't recall ever selling a Nintendo game.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Id like to see Nintendo make more franchises.
However, I realize that, if they do that, there will be people who want more of that franchise, until it becomes another part of Nintendo's stable of I Ps, like Mario, Zelda, and Kirby.
I have a message from another time...So in other words, they're basically doing nothing about it. ... Fine with me.
I have to wonder, after the PR disaster that was the Xbone, and E3, and Sony's brutal MURDER of the Xbone, how has this affected the Wii U sales in June? It might've gotten a slight bump in sales.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I know about the whole "How to let friends play your PS 4 games on theirs" thing but did Sony do anything else to lash out against the Xbox One?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Marioguy: I don't have any exact numbers, but I have anecdotal evidence that suggests something about E3 is making people buy the system. When I was at Best Buy on Saturday to try out Wind Waker HD, people were walking out of the store with Wii U's in their hands.
Also, the Wii U shot up the Amazon sales chart something like 800% when the Xbone was first revealed. Not sure what it's done since then, though.
Zel: The PS 4 does not need to check in with an internet connection ever, while the Xbox One needs to do it once every 24 hours. And it's $100 cheaper.

Additionally, doing FTP multiplayer on the PS 4 is free, as is using Netflix, whereas it looks like there hasn't been any changes to how XBOX LIVE is required to play Netflix.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryDid you watch Sony's conference? For the last 15 minutes, they were basically shitting on Microsoft. It was like the console wars in the 90s, it was glorious.
The one downside to the PS 4, is that you need PS+ in order to play online, but PS+ does offer some very good deals.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!To be more exact, towards the end, Sony mentioned very specific thing that the PS 4 is not limited by, which are all things that came up about the Xbox 1 the previous week or so.
I have a message from another time...Free To Play.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryPS+ is required to play online multiplayer games on PS 4, which is what Xbox Live currently does. However, FTP games will not require PS+, while I don't even see any details about Microsoft hosting similar FTP titles over XBL.
PS+ is not required to use Netflix Instant view, XBL IS required to use Netflix Instant View.
That clear things up?

I'm pretty sure we didn't know about that X game before Nintendo's E3 Direct and that was rather awesome. Yeah, we knew the company (Monolithsoft, I believe) was working on a new title but that's it. Also, that Smash Bros. trailer and stuff about a 3D Mario game were exactly something you'd expect to see at any given E3. Really, Nintendo's E3 Direct was exactly what one would expect to see at any given E3 that didn't introduce a new console or handheld except it just wasn't packaged as an E3 presentation.
