So you just learned you're a mutant! Super powers! Awesome! But the rest of the world hates you. Not so awesome.

You're given two choices. To facilitate co-existence and understanding while accepting the hatred given to you or to define yourself as a superior being to take control over those lesser than you.

Which do you choose?

Can I go with "abuse my powers for fun and profit"?

I'd rather remain among humans and just go on with my life. I'm a loner anyway, so if my powers don't prevent me from passing as human, chances are I'm not going to reveal them to anybody. Xavier and Magneto are just two different flavors of crazy, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not painting a target on myself by joining a group of terrorists or a group of vigilantes unless it gets bad enough that I actually need to do so for my own protection. If I had to choose, I'd go with Xavier, because he's less likely to mistreat or murder his own followers than Magneto.

[up][up]I'm with you Conductor. Why together we could create a political party that sought peace between humans and mutants. Imagine, a world where mutant and human children can go to the same schools, where mutant and human doctors and police officers could work in unison. Imagine a world where we could help each other, Homo Sapian and Homo Facultus, to bring about a new world!

Are you with me Conductor!!??!!

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

Or I could be one of the mutants who isn't pretty and join the Morlocks. Unless I'm female, in which I'd still be pretty anyway. But I'm not female so I'd probably have horns for eyes or something.

Considering what bullshit the original 5 members have been through, if death is all that happens to you, you're lucky.

Brotherhood. They usually have guys with lame powers, and I'd probably help balance that out.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

Xavier would be the best choice. I'm pretty sure that, if by power was dangerous, he would help me control it, but wouldn't force me to join the X-men if I didn't want to.

I don't think that would be an option with Magneto, even on his best days.

Although they're both pretty messed up these days, so I guess it depends on when I met with them.

Magneto seems to have joined the X-Men again last week, so I guess I'm off to Utopia like everyone else.

I would like to think that I would help others in general, but I am too shy to make a big deal out of it (i.e. I am remaining out of the limelight if I can) and would rather work a regular job.

Of course if the Sentinels/Lynch Mobs/What-have-you start coming after me I am running to Xavier's.

Xavier. They have cuter guys.

And then there's that whole moral justification thing I hear about, I think there's more of it on Xavier's side.

Team up with Deadpool, of course.

And Magneto isn't likely to kill his followers... He cares about mutantkind just as much as Xavier, but they focus on different sides of a mutant's interests and goals.

I'd join Magneto. I agree with him on principle. The X-Men series has gone on how long now? And why? Because humans won't accept mutants. The societies are incompatible with each other.

One or the other must go.

And Magneto isn't likely to kill his followers
Well, he is a violent racist leading a terrorist group. If I'm a mutant in the Marvel Universe, and therefore haven't read any X-Men comics, that's what I know about him. I don't know what exactly his record of killing his own followers in canon is, but I know that leaders of terrorist groups, gangs, crime syndicates, and other sorts of violent antisocial groups are, as a rule, more likely to use intimidation and violence to protect their place in the pecking order, and more likely to harshly punish perceived disloyalty or dissent.

Depends. Are we talking modern, grimdark X-Men, EXTREME nineties X-Men, or Claremont-era kinky X-Men?
