Well yes, but five iterations of a Homestuck RP have died horrible deaths.
Kitkat Kitkat / He's our man / If any one screws up / He sure can -ImcaI like the mechanics of the homestuck world, I really do, but ehhhhhh. I think it's a tad hard to roleplay.
Read my stories! That might be the reason the other four have crashed and burned so far. It's possible that we could modify standard SBURB to make it more RP-friendly.
Kitkat Kitkat / He's our man / If any one screws up / He sure can -ImcaIt'd probably depend on the game mechanics and story and how pesterlogs and such are handled (the others used AIM for pesterlogs, which worked well but kind of required people to be able to be online at the same time and were kind of awkward to organize at times), but I was in two of the others and enjoyed them quite a bit (things like trying to organize chat sessions for pesterlogs notwithstanding).
I mean, would it be fan characters/OCs in a game session, which is what the others were, or canon characters thrown into some other setting perhaps with an OC or two now thrown in here and there (an AU type thing, think Trollcops or the like as an example) or something else entirely? Would it focus on trolls, kids, both, or something different (like the Exiles or the Felt)?
Just putting some potential questions/thoughts out there for possible planning purposes.
Stupid doomed timeline...Yes, the problem with actually using stuff like pesterchum is that it requires multiple people to be online.
Also, Homestuck RP tend to sort of become 'mutual one man shows' collapsed into a single RP for a long time- which is why I think they die so quickly. Everyone is sort of stuck on their own making up their own crap with only chatlogs to interact with others. So the crazy idea I had was that this session could put all the players on the same planet- some sort of super planet where everyone would be working together and interacting in person from square one. Or something.
Dumb idea?
Kitkat Kitkat / He's our man / If any one screws up / He sure can -ImcaActually, that would make sense. So there would be a single world and everyone would work together to beat S[insert 4 leters here]
Kitkat Kitkat / He's our man / If any one screws up / He sure can -ImcaI was one of the members of the Homestuck RP's that actually ended. Awesomely, yet abruptly. Mostly the thing that caused the most problems is that, 1. Once we ran out of the base, canon template, in which Homestuck followed, we kind of started to make things as we went along, which kinda caused problems. Especially with some people having to drop out and stuff.
But, it all being in the same house and stuff seems like it would be a good, balanced idea!
Question is, would it be like a dormitory, Boarding School, or Apartment?
I'm a ghost, you didn't see me.I was thinking apartment, though it would probably be a problem fitting all of those players into an apartment. I think a dorm might work best.
So, the mechanics of the game would, for the most part, be kept intact, titles and all. Given the fact that we have several players in one house, should Prospit and Derse be merged as well?
Also, totally calling Bard of Void. With an accordian.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyNah, let's keep em together.
Also, for the weapons and classes and stuff, we could use this.
Alright then, so, let's recount the basic gist of ideas:
- Session with all players in same building(Apartment Complex/Dorm)
- Meaning, everyone, when sent to the Medium, are glitchingly put on some uber-planet that becomes conjoined with other's Lands as they enter.
- Everyone also has to help each other to build up to Gates and stuff.
- Prospit and Derse are same planet, half being Derse and half being Prospit.
- As such, The two, battling sides are going through a kind of Cold War due to such close boundaries.
So, basically, I think what we need now is to determine the number of players. We shouldn't set the capacity too high, as, the larger number there is, the more sticky and convoluted everything gets. I think one RP even closed because too many players made it kind of impossible to actually process and play.
Also, we should think up a snazzy name, as we alrady have one simply called 'Homestuck RP' and it would look cooler to have it be something like Apartment Scattered, or Complex Mixed, or whatever.
