lots of drum machines

I don't think Boys Noize uses more drum machines than, say, Chris Liebing.

vocal distortion

Everything is distorted in electro house. Not just vocals. Not to mention most electro house is instrumental. (Kavinsky; Boys Noize, SebastiAn and Digitalism for the most part; the better half of Justice's output; most of Danger's output, even he's more renowned for vocal tracks... all of his music sucks invariably.)

aggressive industrial beat

Nnnnnno.

Maybe he's confusing Industrial with Aggrotech or something.

...Event that is a bit of a stretch, Rave has little to do with aggrotech.

You think that's bad? Try Hip-Hop.

And Gojira is a cool band.

Hip-hop doesn't have that many subgenres...

And most of them are demarcated pretty clearly, being based on lyrical content.

I don't get why people hate on it so much, I mean while I don't like most of it, there's something there for everyone if they take the time.

Most likely because of the association with the underlying subculture, and the wide disparity between it and most rock/metal music (what most nerds listen to).

anyway we're getting off topic

Rave music is music that people rave about.

Dubstep is what people do step excercises to while watching a dubbed movie.

Electro is a Spider-man villain.

What you might be referring to may be techno.

I don't think that this are the only reasons (the main reason is probably the music itself), but it sure contributes to that. At least, that was the case for me for a while.

However, I still dislike rap, since I don't like how it sounds. There is some, I can tolerate, but nothing I actually like.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.

Since this is here, I always wanted to get into rave and techno music. Can anyone recommend me some good artists and songs?

Why does everybody have a hate on Skrillex? Is it cause he's overrated or something? Maybe I'm just generalizing though.....

Skrillex hate is generally unwarranted IMO.

The worst thing you could say about his music is that it's rather predictable.

That song he did with Korn was pretty fucking boss, though.

I know, it actually made me excited about a new Korn album.

I like how his music switches between being playful and sentimental and then has wicked bass drops and off the wall sampling.

Speaking of dubstep, what exactly is brostep? Did it morph from dubstep or something like that? Is it like dubstep but a teensy bit different? And how exactly did dubstep get on to the main stream? While I'm at it how did electroni music in general get into the mainstream? I know it was aleady sort of there for the background of music and stuff but now it's just become more prevalent on it's own. I mean 10 or even 6 years ago this stuff would have been considered shitty "techno" music. Is it because if that David geutta?

Explain

Oh and do you guys like David geutta? IMO I find his music too loud and too predictible. Your thoughts?
