Aaaaand back from vacation.
Seven entries so far. Good job, everyone!
(In response to the people who found the deadline understandably unclear: In previous contests, we've gotten really few entries by the deadline. Like three. So we've had to extend the deadline until there are enough entries to actually make it a competition.
So this time, in anticipation of that problem, I said that we would end the contest the 8th only if we had enough entries by then. If we didn't, we would extend it.
TL;DR: It's still open and looks like it will end the 8th, on schedule.)
A good seven entries, five days before the deadline? Surely you jest.
Good job, guys.
Whatcha gonna do, little buckaroo? | i be pimpin' madoka ficsOne day left! All entries are still being accepted, so if you don't want all your work to be in vain, get them in now.
The precise deadline will be July 8, midnight Pacific Time, because that's where I am and it'll give a few more precious hours to everyone east of here.

I had my idea outlined, then realized it fails the prompt requirement, so I'm out too. I hate writer's block, so much...

I am now known as Flyboy.I think we really should start broadening our prompts.
Whatcha gonna do, little buckaroo? | i be pimpin' madoka ficsThere's nothing particularly narrow about "one scene from multiple POVs". No genres are left out, the tone can be anything from silly to profound, and the only thing that people need to worry about is making the character voices distinct from each other.
The problem is, a bunch of people keep signing up and 85% of them don't follow through.
Nonono. You have 24+ hours.
I think? I'm pretty sure.
Whatcha gonna do, little buckaroo? | i be pimpin' madoka ficsYeah, but I'm pretty sure the deadline is 11:59:59 or whatever tomorrow night.
Whatcha gonna do, little buckaroo? | i be pimpin' madoka ficsWell, in my defense, I actually was going to have multiple PO Vs, but the characters I set up were too much alike, and I was at a loss for how to diversify them. I seem to be in a rut of writing a lot of solitary fiction though, about single people in isolated situations. This probably about the last prompt I needed at the moment, lol...
I am now known as Flyboy.Unless the next prompt is 'Write about whatever,' I don't see how it can be made any broader.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Finished at 4727 words! Yay!
This has made me realise two things.
a)90% of the text is exposition and general telling
b)It'd really have benefited if it was written in 1st person POV.
But I actually did it, so no complaints here. Also, now we have guarunteed eight entries before the deadline ends. WE DID IT!

Reached the first POV switching point- 619 words.
Also realised that one specific thing in the story makes absolutely no sense, but I hope I've disguised it good enough so that most won't notice until after they're finished the story.
