I'm interested...
Lemme see if I can make something suitable and not fail like Last Time.
So, would we be able to lead a squad? Not perhaps of Space Marines for obvious reasons but what about Imperial Guard?

You can lead a squad under certain circumstances.
Factions that cannot lead squads: Space marines, Grey Knights, Battle sisters, Death cult assassins, Imperial Navy, Necrons, and Genestealer mutants(the mutants may be part of the Inquisitor's war band however).
Other factions can lead squads of up to five men(or equivalent), and mod them themselves, remember, no god modding on your characters or your squad members.
If we all die in 2012, I'm blaming YOU!This looks awesome so I`ll try:
- Name: Aun`o T`au Shas-Shan`al (Translated as: Ethereal Commander of Tau Shas-Shan`al)
- Faction: Tau Empire
- History: As a young student in one of the primary Tau centres of learning, he came to the attention of his elder Ethereals for his grasp of tactics and military warfare. They immediately nurtured this abillity and soon Shas-Shan`al found himself the main Ethereal advisor of the third expansion figurehead O`Shaserra. In accordance with the greater good he completed the same path as those of the members of the Fire caste and soon completed his first Trial by Fire. During morte years 'on the line' he succeded in two more trials until he became fit to don the title of Commander.
- Personality: Although he is a brilliant warrior and strategist he is still an Ethreal, hailing from the Tau homeworld. Tau from this world are considered to be learned and wise and Shas-Shan`al is no exception. He firmly beliefs in the greater good, in fact so much that he discarded his normal privileges as an Ethereal in order to live the life of a normal Tau. Many see him, along with a select few others, as the ultimate exemplar of the Greater Good. He is aloof uyet always fair and doesn`t yold a grudge against any races of the galaxy save that of Daemons and Chaos.
- Equipment: He wears a suit of XV 8 battlesuit armour fitted with many none standard arnaments. It includes a shield generator, a chameleonic unit as well as a wrist mounted Cyclic Ion Blaster and a Plasma Rifle and in his hands he carries a honour blade, enlarged to fit the battlesuits hands as well as an honour knife (which is largely symbolic and doesn`t count as a weapon per se). He also has a maker and gun drone.
- Description: His battlesuit is painted green and brown, as camouflage with several symbolic sept markings on his armour. Beneath the suit is the Ethereal himself dressed in flowing robes over which is laid fire warrior armour that is painted red. His robes are light blue with scripture neatly sowed onto it. Upon his head sits a helm and at his waist is a sheath in which sits the honour knife.
- Time: GMT
- Squad: (I hope this isn`t too powerful but since it wasn`t mentioned against it in the signup I`ll try anyway.) Due to his station Shas-Shan`al is accompanied by two veterans in VX 8 battlesuit armour. Both are equippd with chameleonic units and a burst cannon as well as a plasma rifle.
Ok, here goes:
- Name: Captain John 'Claw' Ravencroft.
- Faction: Imperial guard. (109 Targus platoon)
- History: Born in the slums of Targus's main hive complex (?), John learnt more about survival than the average citizen, forever plagued with the many gangs and the possibility of death each day, he learnt defense against the main dangers of the slums and grew up to be a hard, and fearless man. Once inducted into the Imperial Guard, he worked his way through the ranks, proving his mettle to his peers, they took an interest into his personality and his survival instincts/ He clawed his way up to being captain of a squad of elite Imperial guard units, a special ops. Currently fighting in the war of Targus VIII, for when more than the average Imperial man is needed.
- Personality: A fearless, stern man, the type who would look even death in the eye and laugh. He is very rough and strict, although he trusts his squad and himself more than anyone, or anything else, he is also very commanding.
- Equipment: A clawed, sleek black power fist with his company's emblem on the backhand and palm. He also owns a plasma pistol.
- Description: He has a recently shaved stubble and a rough, built face. He always wons a look of attitude on his face, although there are marks to show that he would usually smile. Tall for a human and with a built-up body from training drills and personal matters. He wears a heavier and more customised version of usual guard armour, he also owns a Colonal's hat and cap, along with a pin-badge to show what rank he is and to show he's with a special ops.
Note: This is a character for me to play as with the Imperial's whilst I play out the chaos plot.
Is it ok?
@ Drace: mostly fine, the chameleonic units suit the theme of the Tau in the campaign, but bear in mind the squad cap of five men, drones do count, so if you have any drones attached to the bodyguards, then you will have to drop all but one. Once I get the roleplay thread up, feel free to post.
@Bamack 1: Accepted, feel free to post, does your character lead a squad of some sort?, and when can I expect the chaos plot? It isn't urgent, but I would like to know. Again, once the thread is up, feel free to post.
If we all die in 2012, I'm blaming YOU!Well, seing as we have had no more signups, I will start the main roleplay. Anybody who still wishes to join may do so. I repeat myself: SIGNUP IS NOT CLOSED.
here is the link to the roleplay thread:

If we all die in 2012, I'm blaming YOU!@hotelkilo: Erratic posting is fine, as is Navy officer.
@Chabal: Orks will be allowed: you will have to make it blood axe clan as well as comic relief; blood axes are mercenaries. Suggestion: you could arm your Ork with guard weaponry to represent a long contract.
I will be afk for the next few days, and unable to post.

If we all die in 2012, I'm blaming YOU!No problem, I was going to make him Blood Axes anyway. These'd be the kind to prefer dakka to accuracy, and cowardly (by ork standards) to boot.
• Name: Mekboy Gundakka Bigrench
• Faction: Orks, Blood Axes clan.
• History: As a Blood Axe, Bigrench cares not from where his next payment of teef, weapons and mechanical parts comes from, and does the job the only way orks know how: with lots of noise and explosions. Bigrench lives only to create ever more destructive weapons and vehicles, and is at his happiest when his latest creation is devastating the battlefield, making more noise than an Ogryn party in the process. His greatest ambition is of creating the single most destructive contraption known to orkkind, and takes on jobs wherever they may be in the hopes of amassing enough weapons for this purpose. He is fascinated by the concept of machine spirits and often wonders how he could make his creations work by themselves.
• Personality: He is remarkably jovial for an ork, exulting more in destruction and explosions than in the fighting itself. However, he still has an ork's physical sense of humor, and enjoys a brawl as much as the next greenskin. He has learned to tolerate other races (or at least not shoot them on sight for not being orky) if they can offer him what he needs. Like most orks, overly complicated instructions will slow him down, and it is best to simply tell him what to blow up and let him take care of the how.
• Equipment/armor/weapons: Bigrench carries an assortment of tools and mysterious "parts" with him at all times, used to get mechanical devices back in semi-working order. His armor is cobbled together from whatever metal bits can be found, and protects him from all but the worst explosions and open flames. His main weapon is an enormous handheld rotary-barreled grenade launcher with various semifunctional addons dubbed the boomstikk, the barrel of which is fitted with two prongs that allow him to use it as a comically oversized wrench, hence his name. He also carries a choppa on his back as an all-purpose tool and weapon. He has as his assistants four Gretchin apprentices which he uses as mechanics, carriers, test subjects and ammunition as needs be. They wield either small-arms (ork or looted) or their own latest creations, which tend to be as dangerous to the wielder as to anyone in the vicinity.
• Description: Bigrench is small for an ork leader at a mere six and a half feet tall, but is as tuff as any boy. He wears a large groxleather apron festooned with metal plates and bits, heavy steel-capped boots and has a bionik eye after losing the other to a malfunctioning shoota.
• Powers: Able to jury-rig malfunctioning vehicles and guns so that they work, though non-ork equipment will require intensive care from specialized technicians to be brought back in working order, if not scrapped outright (in which case he'll try to obtain the scrap for himself). Like all orks, Bigrench grows larger and stronger the more Orks and Gretchin are under his orders.
• Time: +9 hours from the forum clock.
Okay, finished; hope it's alright.
- Name: Admiral Narcia Kuryakin
- Faction: Imperium of Man, Imperial Navy, 1st Battlegroup of Battlefleet Gibraltus
- History: An extreme rarity amongst the officer class in the Navy, Narcia was not born into one of the powerful naval families or indeed even in space. Hailing from an obscure agriworld somewhere in the area of the Damocles Gulf the future Admiral's mother was an Arbite while there is no surviving record of her father. When she was about ten, her mother was killed in a riot thus ensuring her entry to the Schola Progenium. Despite her imposing physical features, mother's occupation, and commanding nature Narcia was passed over by the Sororitas, Arbites, and Imperial Guard. Instead, for some reason never explained to her but reckoned to be either 'for laughs' or 'administrative accident', assigned to the Naval Cadets. As near as can be figured (considering the antiquity of sources and the dubious nature of most) she went on to graduate without issue and be assigned to a junior officer's post on a class light cruiser. Considering her length of service and its nature the best source for most of her career is the Admiral. Perhaps Admiral Kuryakin's most famous adventure is the interception and destruction of a Nurglite grand cruiser, saving an entire system at the cost of her light cruiser and eyesight (Forced to cut her own eyes out to stop them from being corrupted by plague). Hailed as a hero, alongside the only other survivor of the battle, Narcia came to the attention of the Inquisition and spent the next decade serving the Ordo Xenos in a variety of roles with her faithful Armsman Eva Cole dragged along for the ride. Eventually she returned to regular Naval service, her career recieving a second slight (quiet) boost. Since then she's served as the Battlefleet's go to woman for a detached battlegroup command, often leading the first ships into conflict aboard her aging ironclad flagship the Lord General Craufurd. Remembering her time in the Schola and all they've done for her in the past Narcia tries her best to take care of her crews as well as the close groups of friends gathered over the years. Perhaps the oldest two are Eva Cole and Mercia Kloch; Cole is a native of the ice world Valhalla impressed into service aboard Narcia's first assignment. The terrified former mining clerk was assigned to the division headed by Midshipman Kuryakin and would end up being dragged around most of the segmentum at her side. Despite battling pirates, Tau or human, to servants of the Ruinous Powers, Eldar, more Tau, and then working with those same Xenos on occasion with the Inquisition Eva's managed to survive if not thrive. Perpetually uncomfortably warm and concerned for her Admiral, she has long given up on ever surviving to anything like a comfortable retirement but believes her best chance of doing some good lies with Kuryakin. Mercia Kloch joined the pair aboard the Inquisitorial vessel Galaxion; ship's astropath, she was surprised to be personally sought out by the new Captain and thereafer regularly consulted afterward on personnel matters as much as communications. Narcia used her pull to take Kloch with her from the Galaxion because 'She's not as dreary as most of them are'. Augusta Cannon was a pupil of Narcia's during her short stint as a Schola instructor; years later she would serve with her old instructor aboard the auxiliary cruiser Blood Robe. The Admiral has always taken a personal interest in Augusta's career, though usually at a distance. Took the opportunity to take her along as flag captain for the Targus expedition. Youngest member of her senior staff, a bit nervous serving as her mentor's deputy. Lady Howlfinder joined forces with then Commodore Kuryakin fifty years ago, after a particularly acrimonious dispute with the aforementioned flag officer about the quickest path through the warp. Impressed that the other woman would concede to her experience and considering her chance of dieing to be lower with Narcia she immediately began pulling strings to remain with her. Barely speak despite how well they work together on navigational matters, preferring to have Mercia pass messages back and forth between themselves. Despite her ties to the inquisition, isn't terribly happy about being told to stay out of the campaign.
- Personality: Having been in the service of His Majesty for over two centuries, Narcia has carefully cultivated a reputation as one of the Navy's few harsh but fair commanders though her reputation amongst higher authorities is somewhat less glowing considering her hesitancy in fleet engagements. Of consequence she has spent much of her command career on far flung 'unimportant' detached assignments. Just as planned. An excitable woman with a profound lust for small scale engagements and fighting raiders of the Great Enemy Narcia has no time for walls of battle slamming away at one another when citizens of His Divine Majesty are left unprotected. A through extrovert, she enjoys the company of her officers and men immensely when she can (usually forced to endure her friends). Instead of becoming hardened by her years of service Narcia still believes the primary goal of the Navy is to help protect the people of the Imperium as best she can while sacrificing as few of her crewmen as possible. Can be loud and overly enthusiastic.
- Eqipment/armor/weapons: Naval Pistol (marked for light cruiser EXPRESS), chainsword
- Description: Admiral Kuryakin cuts an impressive figure in or out of uniform with her waist length (ever so slightly graying) blond hair, towering stature (nearly six feet last anyone measured), good taste in clothing, oddly soft brown eyes, and large.... tracts of land. Usually wears her admiral's uniform in its various forms, tending towards less ornamentation then most senior officers. Has an augmetic right arm (noticeable) and both eyes (not nearly as).
- Squad: Mercia Kloch (astropath), Warrant Officer Evangeline Cole (aide), Lady Louella Howlfinder (battlegroup navigator), Commodore Augusta Cannon (flag captain)
- Time: EST

As Waagh! Skullkrak comes closer to the Targus system, Imperial fleets are rapidly traveling through the warp, trying to get to Targus before the Orks. As Imperial Guard regiments deploy all over the system, several thunderhawks make a landing on Targus VIII their mission: to destroy the Ork artillery and Planetary defenses once the orks make landing on the planet.
While Imperial fleets deploy in the Targus system, A cloaked Eldar cruiser arrives in system again deploying on Targus VIII to guard a vital Webway portal, where several wraithlords stand guard, a force that cannot be lost. Should the Orks capture the portal, they will win the war, transporting themselves from one system to the other, not needing vulnerable ships and supply trains.
As the Imperial Guard deploy on planet, and the fleets muster into attack formation, a black ship enters the system, claiming absolute command of the campaign in the name of the Ordo Xenos and the Holy Inquisition. The Inquisitor's mission is simple to locate and kill the ork war boss; Skullkrak. He planned to use accompanying Deathwatch and several death cult assassins to achieve his aims. He knows that these forces may not be sufficient for the task, and is willing to make alliances with other xenos to achieve his aims.
Shortly after the Inquisitor's ship entered the system, a small force of Grey Knights also emerged from the warp, tracking down a cult that had connections to the lord of change, and could possibly summon several greater daemons if the were unmolested.
An Imperial Guard commissar was dispatched to warn the order of the Sacred Flame on Targus VIII about the encroaching ork invasion. When he arrived, he found Battle Sisters drilling in full battle armor, and their commanders totally aware of the coming threat, when he entered the monastery, he found the Canon discussing tactics with an Inquisitor, he was told that the Order was ready for War, and that the Guard should mind their own business.
As mortals walked the planet above, one of them went deep into the catacombs, deeper than any of the other mortals had been before, except those from a million years prior, who had been bound to metal in the darkness, cursed to live forever, exiles of the Necron race, their punishment was chosen because they sought to help the old ones in the great war. At one time, to become the Necrons we know today was a punishment for the Necron race, they believed that to be mortal was to be superior, and these sentient machines performed their lowliest tasks after they had supported the old ones. Now they are rising, once again to support the enemies of their race, forever to be shunned by their own, they seek the acceptance of the old one's creations.
Shas'O Rae was summoned to the scanner bank on the bridge. "sir, we are picking up Necron lifesigns on Targus VIII" Rae was one of the few survivors of Kaurava I where the Necrons had come in force and almost eradicated the other races from the face of the planet, and had advised the Ethereals that the Necron threat had to be destroyed before they could convert the planet fro the greater good. He and his fire warriors had been tasked to eradicate this threat. "Very good, turn on the cloaking device and deploy planetside."
You may play as: Imperial Guard, Imperial Navy, Space marines, Eldar, Grey Knights, Battle sisters, Inquisition, Tau, Necrons, Death cult assasins, Or genestealer mutants that have not yet shown their true colours.
