I was thinking of playing as Harry Dresden. Any idea how that would be handled?
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyWell, he's already a wizard. I can only think that his muggle pop dies 'mysteriously' and then his uncle comes around and goes, "Guess what, you're going to Hogwarts! Also with a bit of tutoring on the side."
What we get is a kid with a disturbing amount of knowledge of the dark arts but an unwillingness to use it and he may have already killed his uncle after finding out all that stuff his uncle did. Maybe with AK. Otherwise a good kid who wants to help people.
I'm Ducan from Total Drama Island
his parents moved to England after Duncan spent a month in juvie
He's muggle born
I noticed Duncan had a lot of accidents that would kill a normal human happen to him (ie: Falling off a cliff, having a metal pole fall on his headect)

Proveing 12 year olds are the filthist people aroundYou can still have him, if you like. I'm still trying to decide between him, Harvey Dent, and John Egbert.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyOkay, I've decided on John.
Had a pretty decent upbringing, really supportive father. No mother to speak of, but it's never really bothered him. His dad's unending support, however, does. John discovered his affinity for magic when he made a claw hammer embed itself in his bedroom window. For a while, he dismissed at as a freak storm until he recieved a letter from Hogwarts.Initially, John was hesitant about going to this school of witchcraft and wizardry. However, finally buckling under the constant insistance from his father that he should go, he went. For now, he's at least glad that he has some distance between himself and his dad.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyDave Strider is a cool dude. He lives with his bro, Bro. He is obsessed with being cool, which manifests itself in his unceasing pursuit of new ironic depths. His magic manifested when he was almost hit by a lame bus, when another Dave grabbed him, pulled him out of the way, and time traveled back. After that, he got a radical e-mail from a radical school of magic and wizards.
That good?
UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR PRÈS DE TOII was about to come in with a Homestuck character but I changed my mind because we've already got two.
Maria Ushiromiya, considered a quirky and unusually Western looking girl by her Japanese counterparts, was ostracized from a young age for her beliefs in the occult. Her Muggle mother, a single mom angered by Maria's childishness, was THE BEST MOM abusive. However, Maria received a letter from Hogwarts, among other more local schools of witchery, after making cream puffs fall from the sky in an incident that required intervention from the Improper Use of Magic Department of Japan. In an arrangement that pleased both mother and child, Maria was sent off to Britain to learn the magic that she so loved.
Maria is quite childish for her age, with the tic of adding an '~u' to the end of her sentences and tendency to throw tantrums. She's quite intelligent, however. She also illegally owns a Kneazle she has named 'Sakutaro' that she befriended as a sort of 'imaginary friend' as a little girl, the Kneazle being smart enough to hide itself from Muggles.
Kitkat Kitkat / He's our man / If any one screws up / He sure can -ImcaNew explanation:
Hogwarts has been sending their acceptance letters abroad as of late. It started when the America's wizarding accademy up and exploded like nobody's business. Everyone survived and granted she isn't taken as a character later on it was Lina Inverse's fault.
So young American wizards had to be sent to Hogwarts for their education. This set a bit of a precedent only Japan followed. They began sending their 'problem children' to go put them somewhere they didn't have to see them. However, out of national pride, they also had to send their geniuses so Japan doesn't look like it's made of just problem kids.
<sneakily follows Moerin in>
...what? Our other RP has slowed down, so why not look into this one?
Anyway, I was considering a character from the Forgotten Realms universe. Possibly Catti-brie, as the whole "raised by dwarves" thing would be...interesting...to try and pull off.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)

In need of a co-GM that can help run a proper plot because all I have is a themetic basis for the RP and for a few plots.
The premise is such: Around that same time as Harry's first kid is going to Hogwarts, another batch of First Years are also showing up and each and every one of them is an alternate version of a fictional character, not an OC, who's history has been supplanted and molded to fit there new role as 11 year old British wizards while still retaining all the cool bits of their character.
IE, Bruce Wayne may still be a gadget hoarding bad ass who dresses like a bat to fight... bullies? Crime? Yes?
