Not sure.
Also, I stand firmly by my belief that Metal Gear Solid 2 is the absolute pinnacle of the series in terms of narrative. The way that it was able to break down and analyse the very nature of video games and players, the questions of free will, order vs chaos, and reality vs fantasy is something that none of the others even came close to. Even 3, for all of its excellence, simply was unable to be as thought-provoking in my opinion.
In other words, it really forced the player to think and ask questions about themselves, which the other entries lacked.

I think it took me six hours to beat MG 1 and ten hours to beat MG 2 on my first time. Remember games back then weren't epics.
I am crashing this thread to ask about the Easter Egg in MGS3 where you can see The Boss and The Sorrow Reunited In Death. How do you get that?! I'd never even heard about it until I read about it on the Tropes here.
Do not obey in advance.Just picked up MGS 1 and was finally able to start playing after I got my hands on a PS 1 memory card. Nothing more infuriating than playing for a few hours and then realizing you cannot save anything.
Any non-spoiler advice for a newcomer? Just got through Revolver Ocelot's fight, interested to see where they go with the "heart attacks", and to clear up some confusion I had, is The Colonel's niece the same girl that was there when you hallucinated Psycho Mantis and fought off the guards, very early on?
More Peace Walker!
When it mentions that a recruit's parameters have increased during level up does that mean their capabilities towards other staff positions, or just their health/psyche/gmp? Does their level only increase if they are in the combat unit, I use them on a mission, or in outer ops? Finally do recruits only use weapons equipped on them when sent to outer ops; say if I give a guy two rocket lauchers will he only use those?

enjoy...
You must be realy enjoying it then.
As far as I know, it's just their Health, Psyche and GMP capabilites. I've only seen their skills for other areas go up when the mess hall percentage thing go past 100%.
I think it's all three actually, it doesn't matter. I might actually check for myself when I get the chance.
I assume he would but really, I haven't got a clue. Perhaps they can only use what is set by default for them.

I just leave this here.
If you can ignore how obnoxious it is to read (I couldn't an gave up after a while), then it's quite an interesting read. And apparently had some consequences.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.
